Starcraft 1 Demo

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Hello all!

I want to download the demo for Starcraft 1 legally. I remember downloading it a few years ago but I uninstalled and can't figure out a safe and legal site to download it again.

The reason I want the demo is because I am not sure I want to buy the original Starcraft or Starcraft 2(my friend says they play very similarly)...

Thank you! :)

Ah YES!!!!

I remember that webpage...I used that same webpage a few years ago.....

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINDING IT!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I'm not sure if I will like the game but I am ready to find out!!! :D

PlanHex, alas, the campaign in the Demo of Starcraft 1 serves as a prequel to the one in the game. So, it's reasonable to complete it beforehand. :)

Heh, I had completely forgotten about that.
Just replayed it for the first time in ages, it's a damn good demo too.
Too bad developers never do that sort of thing any more, but I guess it's a lot more expensive to do it these days.

Maybe they's just afraid that no-one will buy a sub-10-hour-gameplay game after having way with an hour demo.

The problem is that demos are the antithesis to hype. Look at Molyneux... that's why his new policy is "no demos."

Ok, so I downloaded the demo and am having fun doing the missions.....

Starcraft is actually a really good game!!!

Anyway... is this demo still playable online? If so, how do I play online games through the demo?

I have installed this demo on Windows 7 but whenever I try to connect to battlenet it gives me an error message...

Can someone help me with this?

I just checked and the message has something to do with UDP packets?

EDIT: Ok, after some research I came upon this site...

http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=21109&rhtml=true?rhtml=y

StarCraft:

- Allow port 6112 TCP and UDP out and in

So...now I need to know...how do I do this on Windows 7?

Thanks! :)
