Stats and skills are red...for a very long time...???

My main character was playing around with some drugs and healing powders trying to keep himself alive during a nasty fight. He made it through the fight but now several of his main stats and a lot of his secondary skills appear to be permanently red :(

I have completed 2 missions with his stats in the red so if the stats were going to rebound with time then I believe they would have done so by now. I have healed him with every type of of item I can find or buy and nothing is helping his stats restore to their original values. I have used doctor bags, paramedic bags, first aid, and others to no effect.

He has lost perception, Intelligence and charisma and a bunch of of his trade skills...Piloting, repairing, traps, and etc. They are significantly lower in value then what I started with.

Anyone have a tip or ideas about how to restore my characters stats.

Dunno for sure, but some drugs do cause addiction, which may cause some serious side effects, like lowering stats, check that you aren't addicted, and for the secondary stat loss it's probably because you're wearing some heavyer armor, like metal armor, which lowers your skills. And ofcourse if your stats are lowered some your skills are too, since they are binded.

How do you tell if your character has an addiction?
 
Hmm dunno :P never been addicted i think, prolly in the status window in the character screen. Not sure thou.
 
are you wearing envirmental armor? that lowers your skills allot...
 
Hi,

I have this same problem with some of my guys. They're not addicted and wearing plain leather. Their stats only show normal when they're prone. I think, but I'm not sure, that it's because I did their leveling while they were prone.

I had one guy who had this problem and after he leveled again I made sure he was standing when I did his points and I think that cleared it up. Oddly, I don't remember for sure, but this guy does have normal stats now.
