[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-01 AT 08:55PM (GMT)[p]Well, frankly selling 180 or some such weight (most of it good stuff too) and then get around 3000 or 4000 with 8 charisma from the Quarter Master is well... Frustrating!

With that in mind what should I do? The 2 most obvious solutions are taking (or improving) Barter and Steal, but which should I choose?

Barter looks like a good idea for the long run, since at the rate I’m going, which is mission 4/5 and around 25000 Brotherhood Money isn’t cutting it when a single gun is costing an arm and a leg. Also, will I notice a substantial increase from Barter, or will it just take the edge of the rip-off prices?

Stealing, a great skill in Fallout 2, but here, I’m not so sure… Its uses seem rather limited, but just in the Bunker there seems to be some good stuff for nimble fingers to take. I was checking around and noticed that just Barnaky has a mini-gun & ammo, not a bad find at all! One question though, does the people regenerate their stuff? For example, if I steal some Scribe’s Super Stimpacks, when I come back from a mission, will he have more for the taking or is all that stuff a one-time shot?

Thanks for the advice!

Questions, questions.

Originally I choose barter, but that was a waste of time. This go-round I actually choose Lockpicking. With a Charisma of 6, you get Rage in your pool before the second mission and he now has Steal as a skill. I used him with great effect for free medical supplies and Pancor Jackhammers at the Merchant (Trader?) encounter.

In the second or third bunker, you can actually gamble for any (or all) supplies available to you from the Quarter master. You can select everything and gamble away. At some point you'll win everything. (I've done it, it works.)

Between stealing and gambling for all equipment and selling it back, you should be good to go. I have yet to have want for anything I need.

Good luck.
