Stealing (Fallout 1)

First time out of the vault
Sorry for the total newbieness of this question, but how do you steal? I can't access the online manual and none of the FAQs tell me how to actually do it.

open your skilldex (you can do this by pressing S, or click on the bottom above your combatwindow, far right it was I think.)

then select "Steal" (or press 3, this is the shortbutton to the stealing skill) and left click on the person you want to steal from, this can only be done outside of combat, if you perform this action, The items of the person your stealing from will pop up, and you can drag them into your own bag.

be ware though, safe if you dont want this person to get mad, people discovering you're stealing from them will automatically start combat with you.

Step one:
Click in the "SKILL" button in the right side of the screen or press "s" in your keyboard.

Step two:
Click in the "STEAL" button in the "SKILL" box that appears on the screen after you completed step one.

Step three: After step two your arrow will change to a target sight (or at least that's kind of what it looks like), place the cursor in the NPC (No Player Character) you want to steal from and click.

Step four: A window that shows the NPC and PC (Player Character, that means you) appeared. Drag the object from the NPC inventory to your inventory to "steal", or do the opposite to "plant" an item.

I hope it has been clear and understandable.

yeah, but some games, particularely old games...often come's without the manual...allthough they are on the CD in PDF format, but how shou8ld he know?

Yeah, anything that comes on the budget label usually doesn't come with a manual. When I bought the FO1/FO2 jewel cases, they didn't even come with a quick start manual, and the installer didn't mention a manual anywhere. If I didn't know they had a manual on the disc, I would've never found it.

That said, Mr. beef (or Ms., all you posters look alike to me), if you've got the jewel cases, then there's a PDF on your Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 discs that has the manual. Read it, because it has a LOT of useful information, for instance, perk prerequisites.

Considering he figured out how to use Bittorrent, and somehow mount or burn the image, I think he could find the folder on the disk labelled MANUAL.

Sheesh...
