Storage

M-26-7

Still Mildly Glowing
Does anyone know how dependable storage is? Is it like in the games of old when you could just shove stuff in a locker and leave it there for an eternity? I want to drop off some valuable weapons that I don't use much (Missile launcher, minigun) and my power armor that I can't use yet at my house in megaton in order to carry more. Any glitches associated with this?

Ive been using the Megaton lockers ever since I got the house early in the game and Ive logged close to 30 hours since then and haven't had any problems.

I actually had a problem with my megaton locker eating my stuff once. So I reloaded and put all my stuff in the locker closest to the door.

Not sure about lockers and boxes in general, but those in your own house should be safe - haven't had any problems so far (PS3 version).

In Oblivion (same engine) you could leave stuff in piles on the ground and it would never disappear.

Both Fallout and Oblivion give you warnings about not being suprised if stuff you put in storage disappears I think becasue either dungeons reset after a set amount of time, or because it is possible that a quest item may replace the contents of a locker.

However, minus glitches, lockers and other storage in your personal quarters are permanent.

Actually in Oblivion i also had a problem where I stored something in a house and it disappearing, the house being the one above the Dark brotherhood if that plays any factor.

Or maybe I just came home wasted decided to play for a half hour and forgot about it in the morning.

The abandoned house? I think in Oblivion, all non-owned locations reset after a certain time. The houses you own should be perfectly safe. Should.
