My idea involves the subject of the Fallout structure, I'll explain that for you, so that you won't misinterpret me. As a gamer I see that the Fallout plot getting old (same "save your village/vault by finding a whatsoyoumacallit in wherever and returning to your village/vault and finding out that you have to kill Joe Schmoe because he is trying to enslave/destroy everyone)for the time. I am not saying that is a bad plot but as Xotor (I think) said: Fallout is about renewal: new ideas but same feel. One aspect in the Fallout games that I see that can be changed is the structure aspect. Both Fallout games (rpg, BoS doesn't count as one and I ain't discussing why) follow the same plot (see above) that plots ONE character (I know there are infinite characters but they are all one for all we care, the Chosen One or Vault Dweller) against everybody else. What I see that could be changed is that we could add a bit of spice to the Fallout experience if we add the element of multiple possible storylines and endings. Instead of having one guy tackle ALL the evil in the wasteland, why not have different guys from different places be the heroes. For example purposes, I will post a "plot" (this is not the plot of the final game, the game can have any plots but with the multiplicity characteristic) using a the multiple storyline system (I will use the names of the cities of the Fallout games but only as means of providing you with places you know): You start the game and get to a menu that says: "Choose your storyline", you pick Broken Hills (just for example) and the title shows "The town that was the only hope for unity between mutants and humans is now a ghost town", and you get to play a human or mutie (you get to customize ALL the appearance of your character and the race where it is applicable, in Vault City, you can't play as a mutie) that is trying to revive the town to live up to its founders's hopes (Jacob and Marcus) but needs to find a mean of profit because the uranium mine has been sponged dry and people wouldn't return to Broken Hills if it ain't a livable place. Eventually you get the place up and running by going on errands to find parts, people or ideas on some of the surrounding towns but you discover a conspiracy to incite war between mutants and humans. Here goes an example of multiple endings without neither being good or bad (different points of view): Your character manages to outsmart the people behind the conspiracy (they could be from inside Broken Hills or politicians from another town trying to avoid the resurgence of other major towns that could oppose them) and take the war back to the people who were trying to cause it (either make it an attack on another town but REALLY TOUGH or finding the traitors in Broken Hills and you and your deputies kill 'em in Texas style (should read SHOTGUNS) but in a very violent battle with heavy losses on both sides) OR your character isn't fast or smart enough to counter the conspiracy and you are forced to take sides in the final battle between mutants and humans and the ending would depend on the outcome in this case (They could kill each other and you; you and one side kill the other side; you kill 'em both rabid dogs ). You could choose NCR and get the task of getting other towns to join NCR or DIE. You could get to be a Paladin for the Brotherhood of Steel that thinks that the original views of the organisation are corrupted and you form another faction and the plot in this case would be balancing your duties as a Paladin and your mission of forming, getting support, getting firepower, getting money, etc for your faction., either you succeed and throw a coup d'etat or fail and start a civil war (note the analogies please) or you could just follow your orders and none of the faction matters would happen, it has to be up to YOU. The following is just as a distant wish but they should include bonus storylines (short storylines, only meant for fun) like playing as a wolf pack or deathclaws...This message is very long and would like to hear feedback from you, my friends...should I continue develop the idea or trash it?
