Stuck in that Super Mutant place in Fallout 1

I'm running the game on windows, and i think I installed the 1.1 patch right. I'm at Level 5.

I got this game yesterday and started playing it. Today, i went to Necropolis to try and get the water chip. I started on the "quest" to get the junk back for the ghoul, but i ran into the big Super Mutant who takes you to his leader if you don't answer his questions the right way. I tried all the dialog options, and when none of them let me get out of the place, i ran. I went down the elevator and let myself get caught by the other Mutant, ran away again, and killed the....... the purple guys to get their clothes and the security card. I used the card on the computer, downloaded the logs that were accessible, and eventually succeeded in hacking the computer to see what the commands would do. I tried all of them, but when I try to go to the third floor, the yellow force field is up and I can't disable it. I tried using the computer at the top right, but it doesn't work anymore. My original plan was to set the base to blow in 300 secs. and tell the leader that i'd turn it off if he'd let me go (which may not even be possible). Now the robots are active, so when i try to approach the leader, they kill me.

Sorry for making this sound insanely confusing. If anybody can help me, i'd really appreciate it.

You can try to disable forcefields using your repair skill or by planting explosives near them. If you can't get past robots, forcefields etc. then I'm afraid you're screwed.

There's a console ("Force Field Controls") in the computer room on the bottom level that will disable the yellow forcefields, though it will also do other stuff like trigger the alarm (possibly because the whole forcefield affair is pretty bugged).

I probably already triggered the alarm system, so that's alright. Is there a way out from the 3rd floor? I know of only 1 elevator that works.
