Stuck in Vault 0 (seems that the end is near)

I am in the Calculator hall, heard the 'countermeasures' warning, the Calculator and all doors except the entrance are locked and I can't do anything. The 140% lockpick doesn't work (but it was easy to predict), nor does science (130%) and anything I try ends with 'does nothing'. Did I miss anything on the way? I tried both ways, killing and saving Barnaky, but there's no difference. I can't shoot at the brains and I have no explosives. There also seems to be no way back by the elevator.
BTW my reputation dropped to warrior even before possible killing Barnaky (is it because of the nuke?)
 
Thanks for advice. Before I received it I decided to start the mission again and got some plasma grenades on the other floor. A desperate throw at a proximity of the brain did the thing - one brain responded with a dialogue window and the squad started firing automatically at the remaining ones, which led to opening one of the doors. Anyway, it seems to be rather a bug, if you cannot open fire directly at the brains.
BTW Is there any way to finish the game without destroying the brains?
