Stucked at menu screen when choosing Multiplayer

Wakizashi

First time out of the vault
Hello fellow wastelanders

after so many years and finishing Fo1 and 2, I installed FOT from my Fallout Collection DVD. Games installed fine.

Tried the game, singleplayer is working fine. When clicking on multiplayer icon, the music continues but screen hangs and and stays in main menu one, though I cannot choose anything.

This was not the case after the first start on my PC, I could actually get into the multiplayer menu, choose character etc.

When I tried this for the second time and so on, the screen hangs. Using q6600,8GBRAM, HD7850, Windows7 64bit. Tried the game on my GF's pc 8400, 4GBRAM, HD 4870, Windows XP 32-bit and same issue even from the start.

I tried also GOG version and same issue. both patched 1,27, and unpatched, same result. Allowed in firewall (CIS) we are both in a router, static IPs are set.

Tried DVD version in work also and thing is working no problems. E3200, 2GBRAM, integratec crap graphic.

I would say the problem lies in ATI/AMD cards, but this does not make sense because I could run the game ok on my PC first time.

Tried delete Miles, change the name of two files there, but that was the issue with no start of the game, but I was desperate.

Any tips guys? I would really like to play this game with my buddy (probably through Gameranger I guess).

Thank you in advance

Try Googling how to run programs on windows 7 under a different windows compatibility and see if you can set Tactics to run on a emulated version of windows, only Windows 8 and 7 have the ability to run programs on a emulated Windows XP, Vista, etc... It mite work if it does please post here and tell us your findings.

You mite need to uninstall and reinstall the game to fix, there are quite a few possible reasons.

If the game doesn't work please go to your Fallout Tactics folder (to not in!) And right click on it and give me the exact amount of "bytes" under size, (I am sure you have no clue what I am talking about) this is what it will look like:

Type: File folder

Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Interplay

Size: 6.09 GB (6,544,238,873 bytes)

The green part is the information I need, your FT folder will not be any where near the size of mine :) because I have Last Vegas, Enclave and Enclave II installed.
