You live in a castle, Candlekeep, but suddenly your foster father Gorion wants you to to leave the castle. Unfortunatley Gorion dies without having told you why he was in such a hurry to leave Candlekeep. You're on your own.
It's probably a classic.
The main plot is okey but most other quest are very simple in how they are constructed and there is a general lack of choice and consequence. This changes a bit when you get to the city of Baldur's Gate but the game is mainly about exploring and killing things. So the general lack of choice and consequence and good quests might annoy RPG-fans and it's not as good as it's sequel.
