I was wondering what you thought about Sulik's claim to communicate with the spirits. Can he really do it? Is he insane? Is he mocking you by acting overly superstitious (like people would assume an "ignorant savage" would)? I want to hear your opinion.

Lunatic

I don't really think Sulik was worth all that and a bag of llama droppings. My reason for believing so is because everytime you asked him to consult those spirits he'd just tell you something very very very general. Almost like those stupid fortune tellers now.

"What do you see in the future?"

"I see...I see...you meeting a girl."

Wow, that's hard. I step outside my house, I'll meet probably fifty of them. But if you ask Sulik about an area thats just as good as it gets.

Take for example being in a dark gloomy cave with a bunch of rad scorpions and you're outta ammo.

Sulik: I sense some bad joojoo, mon.

RE: Lunatic

Yeah, but I think Sulik's comments were intentionally obscure, more or less like the magic eightball. For instance, didn't he in the Den that another companion was trapped here (meaning Vic)?

And then when your in the Sierra Army Depot, he says "A new friend can be made here." I hope you all appreciated the circumstances of that pun.

RE: Lunatic

I think Sulik's comment in th Den is in reference to the spirit girl that needs her locket back, since she is a fellow "spirit" who is "trapped".

I totally agree with the vague answers/fortune teller theory. I can see how they wouldn't want to put in anything that would be *too* helpful, but I had at least hoped for some humorous commentary from him. Speaking of his commentary, the phrase don't get is im Broken Hills--something along the lines of "He who stands in front backstabs" Or something like that. Is that in reference to the town greeter? All in all, I think he and Hakunnin would get along great.

Bad Joo Joo

Is it honestly that bad for Sulik to be stuck there helping that lady? I mean it was quite obvious that she was taken up on him. Who knows, perhaps she could have "civilized" him, eh? Perhaps with more intelligence he'd understand ol' Grampy Bone more and be worth a heck of a lot more.

Anyways, I still think that the Fallout 2 All Madden Team are composed of Goris, Cassidy, and Marcus.

I suppose we goody-two-shoes players will free Sulik and let him go to find his sister (wherever she went), but hey...let the boy go. He's worthless.

Sometimes I wonder though, could Sulik and the Elder have become lovers if they met in the game?

Hmmmmm...

Grampy Bone tink so, mon.

RE: Bad Joo Joo

As for the "He who stands in front backstabs" comment in Broken Hill, that is reference to both Zathias and Francis, two "respectable" mutants, who are actually in the conspiracy to kill humans in the settlement. Check the sewers for the corpses.

I wonder...

Blizzard has given the rights to people to write Warcraft, Diablo, and Starcraft novels. Why doesn't Interplay give people the rights to write Fallout novels? Or maybe a Redneck Rampage novel? Or maybe a Battle Chess...eh...nevermind.

I think that some games have really came up with some indepth happy crappy. I think there were Doom novels out. I know there was a Myst series. I enjoyed reading the Resident Evil books. The money is out there.

So I suggest that we get some really great novels from our favorite video/computer games. Waddaya say?

Heck there are even Wing Commander novels out there.

Lets get some System Shock, Fallout, and Deus Ex novels out right now! =/

You're probably thinking two things. One, we have fan fics for that. Two, whats this have to do with Sulik?

The answer to the first thing is that it'd be nice to WRITE a fan fic and see it published. Ya know? You can write an uber Fallout story and you can't show the entire world cause you don't have the Fallout rights.

The second answer is that all this talk about mutant conspiracies and such really shows you how indepth the Fallout games were. They had storylines in their side storylines, in their main storyline. They had all kinds of weird stuff going on. In fact, every day I learn something new from somebody else. Its just incredible.

Fallout 1 and 2 would make outstanding books. Even tactics would, although I still have trouble accepting it for some reason or another.

RE: I wonder...

"We have awoken a sleeping giant."

But seriously, that's a pretty damn good idea. Considering that Tim Cain and Crew has such an extensive history of making "curvy" as in twists and turns storyline, any contending fantasy or science fiction author would be hardpressed to write books based on the plot. But I'd love to see an Arcanum book since the storyline is as twisty as a pretzel. I love books like that.

<insert witty remark here>

Exactamondo, sir! Of course I'm sure things like these have come to the attention of the said companies and people involved. I wonder what's holding them back. Unlike throwing 30 million dollars out into the wastepaper basket for a crappy Fallout film done by some German director who thinks CU (close up) shots are fancy or slow mo buttkicking/karate sci-fi movies like Resident Evil are the shizznit, how can you go wrong with a book?

Just give somebody the gosh darn rights! Like me. =) Or like Gunslinger. Or like everyone on this darn board. I bet you five bucks only one of us (and probably not me) would actually write an actual novel. Why? Cause the majority of the people are procrastinators.
