Sweet Hereafter

John Uskglass

Venerable Relic of the Wastes
Just saw it for the first time in a while......
Do you think that Dolores, the driver, was responsible for the crash, and was she really driving that fast. I belive they quote something from the Piper about lying right after it, but I assumed near the end that she was some kind of pshycho, partially because of her surprise that the one hick driving behind her was going to testify that Dolores was going at 50. I saw it with some friends, and the conclusion I made was in a minority.
What do you think? Was Dolores the Paid Piper?

It's been awhile since I had seen the film. But actually I think the bus driver was going too fast and that it probably wasn't a design defect or other product related problem with the bus itself.

Really enjoyed that one. But it's a bit old. Why did you just recently see it?

I had heard that the movie was based on a true story, in which a village's children actually are wiped out in bus accident (plunges into the river as in the film). But I thought the movie was strongest in addressing the idea of grief.
