Tandi not Aradesh' daughter?

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
All this Van Buren info has made me crave for Fallout and Fallout 2.

So I'm playing through Fallout now, trying to get good endings for the Hub and the Followers (if you know how to get them please tell), when I get the Tandi rescue quest while coming back from Vault 15.

The first person I talk to is Seth, who says, "My girl... uh Tandi, is missing."

Now, Aradesh is of East Indian descent. But Tandi seems to have more Native American/Caucasian influences in her model. And in Fallout 2 she's pale and white.

So could Tandi really be a lovechild between Seth and Aradesh's wife?

Seth seems a little old for Tandi don't you think?

And besides, if Tandi was involved in a romantic relationship, then she probably wouldn't be so bored with Shady Sands, and be so willing to go out with you into the wasteland.

Tandi doesn't need to be involved, only Seth. Wouldn't be the first time that unrequited love struck :) . Besides she wouldn't be the first woman to stray, especially if involved with someone in a small community.

Most people I know would say my daughter rather than my girl, my girl tends to suggest romance.

I've got sunshine , on a cloudy day...
When its cold outside , I've got the month of May.
I'd guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?
My girl ,
My girl ,
My girl ,
Talking bout my girl .
My girl !
I've got so much honey the bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees .
Well I'd guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?
My girl ,
My girl ,
My girl ,
Talking bout my girl .
My girl !
I don't need nobody ,
Oh just my baby .
I've got all the riches baby ,
One man can claim .
I'd guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?
My girl ,
My girl ,
My girl ,
Talking bout my girl .
My girl !

doesn't sound like they are singing about daughters to me.

Don't quote me on this, but I think those endings are bugged like the Vault 13 ending in Fallout 2; I've never been able to get the good endings for either of them, either.

The good Vault 13 ending wasn't a bug, it was going to be there but they took it out for storyline purposes. Also, in the Fallout Bible, its kept there for the sake of Universal continuity, to establish that there are no more talking animals or plants after Fallout 2.

Oh well, I guess I mis-used the word "bug..." Replace it with a more appropriate word of your liking :P

The point is though, I think its impossible to get a good ending for those two places. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is from the Fallout Bible:

"What do you need to do to save the Hub from being slaugtered by the fleeing mutants in the end scene? I've finished Fallout 1 once where the Hub survived the attack, and twice where it was slaugtered; but to the best of my knowledge I did nothing different when playing the game the second and the third time!

Beats me; I’ve forgotten. I think it’s a time issue. If anyone out there reading this remembers, let me know. It could be a bug."

There we have it; either its a time issue, or a bug. My choice of words was correct, yay!

Look at Per's guide. Find the link from Roshambo's post in the news section. It's covered there although those walks are chock full of spoilers.

Its a time limit, if you beat the game before 88 days or something you can get a good ending I believe for the hib.

I think seath was romanticly wanting tandi. Also, Areadesh calls her his daughter.

Well of course Aradesh would call Tandi his daughter if he didn't know. And even if he did, he's most certainly raised her as his daughter.

"She is the daughter of Aradesh. Someday she could lead us, but she must learn to temper her ways."

That's what Seth thinks of Tandi. It seems to be a tad too much condescending for him to be in love with her.

EDIT:

*sigh*

According to Razlo, when I tell him about Tandi's kidnapping, he doesn't believe me. He figures she ran off with Seth because Aradesh is a prude, and they've been eyeing each other lately.

...

Vault 15 was supposed to be a huge mix of people belonging to different ethnic groups.

Basically speaking, Aradesh isn't East Indian and Tandi isn't Caucasian, their ethnic origins mixed in the vault's ethnic "melting pot".

If we would, however, assume your hypothesis of Aradesh's ethnic descendance, you forget that Tandi's mother could be Caucasian.

And I'm absolutely sure that Seth is Tandi's boyfriend, not her hidden father or anything... This is Fallout, guys, not a Mexican "Telenovela".

Hey, did it ever occur to you that Tandi may be lesbian? She clearly doesn't love Seth. When you ask her to join you, she declines ("I'm not that kind of girl, mister!" What kind of girl? Straight kind of girl?). In Fallout 2, she has a son, but there is no mention of her husband, so the son must be adopted. As a girl, she wants to travel around, experience adventures, other words - she wants to do manly stuff! Plus it's normal that she wants to leave - as far as Fallout 1 shows, she is the only hot, young girl in Shady Sands, so maybe she's just horny and wants to look for female companionship in the wasteland.

Tandi == lesbian...cool... 8)

Nope, sorry. But it's a nice thought. I usually play Fallout using a female character (kinky? perhaps) but everytime my female character hits on Tandi she tells her that she likes boys.

It is a funny moment.

In the Cafe of Broken Dreams encounter in Fallout 2 she mentions that she thought your grandfather was kind of cute, or something along those lines.

i think Aradesh says :"my girl..er..Tandi" because he is the village elder and talking about his daugher as 'his girl' would be sort of wussy like. that's what i think anyway.

I'm using a female character. Does that mean that she can hit on people? :?

Well, anyway, if you ask Tandi about Seth she says: "My dad tried to set us up once. He's nice, but not my stype", or something similar to that.

I like Tandi, she'd have to be my favourite character alongside Harry, probably because of their unique and interesting characters and the fact I can immediately tell the celebrity voices. I also like Derrick, or whatever his name may be. The mayor of Junktown. Tycho is cool two, he hangs around at Gizmo's old casino when he's not tagging along with my character.

The best part about Tandi, besides the voice, is the rescue mission. There are so many ways to complete it. I managed to get a 10mm SMG, so I went in the back way, planted some dynamite at the back door, and tricked the Khan leader into coming outside. His guard was blown up.
