You know what I think? Well, the Fallout world has such advanced laser and plasma tech. Why don't they have some sort of ice gun or something? It's really just a matter of coming up with a way to keep the nitrous oxide at liquid level, and someway to propel it towards a target without it dissipating into a gas. (Impossible, I know... but hey! It's Fallout!) In addition to causing damage, on a VERY LUCKY critical hit, the person might freeze, and might be killed instantly, or just lose AP. Whaddya think?

why??? ya its tech pos. but why ice some one (i made a funny) when a bullet will do just as well.

Why cut someone down with a plasma bolt when a bullet will do just as well then either? Using different guns just makes you feel... cooler... A freeze gun would also have added benefits of slowing your enemies down.

Well, because the plasma guns seemed to be more powerful than those ordinary bullet ones. Personally, I thought the flame thrower was one of the funnest guns. It wasn't all that powerful though. So I kept my .233 pistol and powerfist handy most of the time.

in reality i would imag. that a plasma gun would melt armor and an ice gun would well ice it all at once, the ice gun only has one chance at pen. the armor if it can, good, but if not um lets just say bad things hit the fan. a plasma gun on the other hand could posibly weaken the armor letting the next blast pen.

I think iceguns would be too Supernitendo-ish

If there should be an ice gun, it should be some kind of meeleweapon.

Maybe it could be a grenade, or a new ammo type for the rocket launcher

Yes. i agree with the vaultdweller. ice grenandes
would be pretty cool. maybe they could freeze the
victims for a few turns. but the guns? well maybe
it could be rare like the solar scorcher in fo2 or the alien blaster in fallout. but i don't think it should be able to be bought as a common thing.

Why not include 'flash bangs' into the game? It can replace the damned useless flares as they 'blind' and deafen your enemy for a short time. Maybe a 10% reduction on enemy accuracy, due to the searing light. Also a successful roll will mean they covered their eyes in time to avoid the affects.

Like in Rainbow Six? And what would you do, wear sunglasses, look into different way, or just roll your character around. Flashbangs are good in highly action-based games(read: first person shooter), but in hex based games, i don't know, hafta be real time combat...

I don't know I would have thought that the character doing the thowing would have at least the sense to actually cover their eyes after throwing. Ah well it seemed like a good idea at the time. Hey how bout a smoke bomb or a biological weapon, say nerve gas that drains hit point if you stay in the area of effect.
