In 2006 Thiago Olson joined the extremely sparse ranks of amateurs worldwide who have achieved nuclear fusion with a home apparatus. In other words, he built the business end of a hydrogen bomb in his basement. The plasma "star in a jar"—shown at the left—demonstrated his success.

I guess someone told him he needed to get two bodies real close to make things hot, only instead of him and a chick, he done it with atoms.

I know a kid that had a nuclear reactor in his basement. Of course, this kid also claims that he made a real live force field generator and working lightsaber, both of which conveniently vaporized due to a mishap involving his dad and orange juice. I totally wish i was as cool as him.
