My family has an old collection of Soviet coins, that were printed in limited edition for when the Olympics were being held in the 1980s' and there are some strong messages of propoganda on those coins, I've noticed.
Some key ones include: "Communism paves the way to the stars," with Gagarin on the front, and the text spiraling around space on the back; Stalin, Marx, and Lenin on the front portrayed as heroes, with "The Greatest Minds of our Time" on the back. There was also something with an atom, I believe on the front - and "Atomic energy provides happiness for all of the citizens of the USSR" or something like that, basically stating - oh, because of communism we've got atomic energy (we all know how that turned out,
)
If anyone is deeply interested, I could dig through my closet to find those coins, lay them out on my desk and take one large photograph. Some of the coins really lay the propoganda on you, thick.
