This certainly has been asked tons of times but strangely I can't find any threads about it even when using the search option.

Is it *possible* to finish the game with a dog character? I'm not asking it because I know that it will become very hard, but because I know that that they cannot climb.

If I remember it right, you had to move your squad to the exit grind that will appear once you finish a mission to leave the map. Well, as dogs can't climb the only way (on some maps) for them to leave a map would be to use the exit grind at the start of mission but some memories tell me that that didn't work out...correct me if I should be wrong.

If you're asking if it would be possible to finish the game with only a dog character the answer would be no. IIRC dogs can use stairs so there's no mission you can't get the dog to the exit point. However, there's at least 1 mission where at least one person has to go down a ladder to finish the mission (Beuna Vista I believe-the 1 with the nuke reactor). I know because the Sarge sprite can't use ladders at all. But, it would be possible to go through the game with just 1 humanoid character (err, a BOS, tribal, raider, reaver, ghoul, super mutant, humanoid bot, or deathclaw-not sure if all humanoid sprites have the capability to use ladders) and 1 dog.

Not in single player at least.... Maybe i'm confused?

You can if you make a dog prefab, or edit the game to add a dog recruit.
