The Den not loading (black screen) Frank Horrigan Armor + Fallout 2 Restoration Mod

Apocalypse2077

First time out of the vault
Hey there all,

I recently downloaded Fallout 2 for Steam to replay as a a low IQ character. I have the Frank Armor mod and Fallout Restoration Mods both installed. For some reason whenever I visit The Den it fails to properly load. Maybe... if I'm lucky, I can see my character but they're just standing in blackness and they can't leave. I thought maybe if I loaded an older save I would be able to bypass this, but no luck there. There has been no problem loading any other cities or areas I visited (Arroyo, Klamath, the Toxic caves or Modoc) is this a known bug for either mod? Any suggestion as to what I can do about this? Google has been no help.

Regards,

Apocalypse 2077

it's ALWAYS a bad idea to install other mods with F2RP unless it's known for them to be compatible with it, do you know if it's compatible?

No, I don't know if they're compatible - I just wanted to get my hands on Frank Horrigan's incredible armor as well as check out all of the stuff in the Restoration Project... I haven't played Fallout 2 all the way from start to finish in about nine years or so...

The mod is not compadible with the restoration mod. Im sure you can get it in but undat the armor mod and renaming the protofiles. but it takes some time to learn how modding works.
Or you install the megamod which has the Horrigan mod in (you can use Vad save game editor to get it more easily)

Good luck

How do I undat the armor mod and rename the protofiles? Anyone want to walk me through that?

Also is John Cassidy's Talking Head included in the Fallout megamod?

Where is Frank Horrigan's Armor in the Megamod... in the BossArmor mod it's directly outside the Temple of Trials... where is it in the Megamod?

You gotta kill the boss to get it, of course. But, I'm fairly certain that you're not really interested in having to do that. So, use the mapper to add the armor to a map in the MM. And no, the MM and RP are not compatible, and it would take way more time than I care to invest in trying to really explain how to add the item to the RP. However, here is the short version: find the proto for the item in the MM, modify the .lst and .msg files related to items, renumber the item as necessary to fit with the RP, add item to some map in the mapper or actually kill the end boss. Good luck.

Or use Vad's save game editor to put the armor in you inventory.
