The Hub people seem most annoyed with me (F1)

Hey all . Without any clear reason , my character is suddenly treated with hostility by the people of the hub . Stuff like that usually make me abandon a playthrough ( which i don't want to ) so i'd appreciate some feedback .

This is near the beggining of the game , and so far my character has been a very nice person . Some details about what i've done so far, though i don't see what could possibly have annoyed them :

Shady Sands
Freed Tandi ( diplomatic solution )
Killed Radscorpions
Found Cure For Poison
Recruited Ian

Junktown
Visited the entrance at night without entering .


The Hub
Listened to Decker's job proposition only to turn it down
Talked to the Cathedral people
Bought the Holodisk from the library
Got a quick loan from Lorenzo ( paid back immediately without interest )
Got the job to find missing Caravans


I've also been to Vault 15 . I think that's all , and i've also been kind to everyone .




The problem so far ( i stopped playing shortly after this ):


Skags are saying that i'm "the one that hurts people"
Catheral folks say they have orders to not talk to me
Lorenzo said ( approximately ) that he wouldn't talk to skum like me and after trying to talk to him again he attacked , saying that he had warned me .



I suspect this is caused by a bug . I'm playing vanilla and recently added the high res patch .


I'm not sure when all this started or what caused it , otherwise i'd go back to an earlier save to fix it . Any suggestions ?
 
Check your reps. Are you a Childkiller or Berserker? Otherwise:

Are you sure the first two aren't just standard NPC barks and you forgot to pay back Lorenzo or something?
 
Checked my reps , only a question mark there . ( edit : total rep is 7 )
Positive about lorenzo , and even if i hadn't it's only been a few hours since i took the money ( but i paid and he was cool at the time ) . It's definitely problematic .
About the skags , i can't be sure . It would seem a bit strange if one of their usual barks was " you're the one that's been hurting people " but not impossible , they seem nuts .
About the Cathedral , it's likely that they are easily annoyed just be talking to them , so it's possible that it's nothing .

But i have the feeling that all these together suggest a bug .

Try prodding around some more, see if other people are pissed. Major NPCs, talking heads, door guards, that sort of thing. Anyone with actual dialogue, not just the random NPCs.
Might be you just pissed off Lorenzo. From Per's guide:
He won't talk to you if you fought Decker's people or if you pissed off Kane.

So he might just be mad you turned down Decker. And who cares about that, I don't think I've ever really used him for anything in any of my playthroughs. Plus I think you can kill him for his money without anyone caring.

Might be bugged, but if that's the case, I wouldn't really know how to fix it.

Be fair now, how many people have you killed in this playthrough?
 
Did you have a random encounter outside of Hub with random mercenaries/soldiers/caravaneers?
If you did, and you fought them, you are in a problem, since they are technically part of the Hub. On the other hand, it should be noted in your reputation.

Could be a crippling bug, tho. Which version of the game are you using?
 
By the way , to my dismay i've just found out that my version ( GOG ) is censored ! At least the children are missing . ( any mods to uncensor it ? )

I think i did have an encounter like that now that you mentioned it , but didn't engage combat with anybody , they were only telling me to be alert because this is a dangerous area or something .

Not a soul ! Well , couple of rats and radscorpions but that's it .
 
Thanks guys . Walked around town some more and no one else seems to be bothered with me . It's probably what PlanHex about Lorenzo , maybe he is pissed because Kane is pissed because Decker is "dissapointed with me" for not taking the job .
I loaded a save before i had spoken to the cathedral people and for now seem willing to talk to me . As for the skags , well , it's not really important . In any case , long as nobody is attacking me , it's not gamebreaking . I'll carry on with this playthrough .


If you can think anything thing i can do to un-censor my game , for this or future playthroughs , please do tell . I searched and couldn't find the children patch here on nma , although it is part of Fallout Fixt . Maybe i can do a customized install and grab just the children patch and maybe the Team X's bugfixing patches ? Would i have to start over again to make this work ? Lastly , i read that the GOG version also censors the language in some cases , and possibly some other stuff . Is that true and if so , can anything be done ?

I think it works fine without having to start over or anything, unlike most other patches which I believe will break your saves unless otherwise noted.
As I recall, the only language that's censored is "drugs -> chems", but my memory is sort of fussy on that. Might have been FO2.
