The Order of Patches

First time out of the vault
I have just installed Fallout 2 and it has been a long time and I cannot get which patches should I apply.

I want to include up to the fanmade 1.05 1 Update and I have the 1.0 US version. Is it O.K that I directly apply the 1.05 1 Update or should I apply the official patches first.

I would appreciate a verbose description.

5. You should probably be using killap's patch anyway.
 
sorry I made a terrible mistake I thought I was posting this in the tech help forum. My mistake.
 
That wouldn't be very respectful towards Celestial and Seraph and all the work they put into them. For now we'll just have to do with recommending killap's patch to everyone everywhere. If someone downloads the "wrong" patch from the files section without doing any research, well, they can suit themselves.
 
anyway to group stuff in the Files/Patches section in sub-categories of something like "Recommended" or "Supported"? others might fall under "Known to be buggy"?

I admit I know from experience that it can be overwhelming to see a list of a dozen different files/utilites/patches that all say they do essentially the same things. Sadly the file rating is very rarely used, otherwise these questions might pop up a lot less.
