The premise of this roleplay is a bit like the move Seven Samurai except on a much larger scale. The people roleplaying will be captains in charge of squads of other recruited Mercenaries and it will basically be a heavy combat/action-based roleplay so fighters, medics, pilots etc will all be needed. I don’t really want to lead the roleplay, but I will if no-one else wants to step up. If enough people are interested in this then I (or whoever leads) can start up the related threads. The story is as follows:
It takes place approximately two decades after the events of Fallout 2. The former Den has expanded its borders exponentially to now incorporate both Klamath and the new Arroyo. Metzger, the brutal slaver leader has taken control of the newly expanded area and has named it Auschwitz after a Nazi concentration camp he read about in pre-war documents. Auschwitz is America’s new hub of slavery. The massive city is made up of three areas; the former Arroyo has become the Slaver’s primary encampment. It is heavily fortified and well-populated by highly-trained and well-armed Slavers and Mercenaries. The former Klamath has been turned into a large prison compound where the Slaver’s considerable stocks of human cargo are kept. The former Den is the only area accessible to outside parties. It has the typical bars, brothels, hotels, casinos that are now so prevalent in post-war America.
The New California Republic, recognizing the considerable threat that Metzger poses to not only their founding ideals, but their own safety has declared war on Auschwitz. Vault City greatly fears the military might of Auschwitz, enough so that they have decided to side with long time rivals; the NCR. Even against the combined forces of the NCR and Vault City, Auschwitz is able to hold its own; in fact the militia style tactics of its army have sent the two allied armies packing more than once.
Caught in the middle of this war is the one-time entertainment capitol New Reno. Its bright neon-lights and numerous casinos are now non-existent. Despite the numerous conflicts that have occurred on New Reno soil, it’s still home to large number of inhabitants who have grown tired of the ceaseless warring on their home turf. As such this group of angry and frustrated people has sent out the call for mercenaries. The offered pay packets coming from the uprooted safe’s of the now defunct casinos. Their funds are great enough to hire an army of their own and they intend to do so. The odds are thoroughly stacked against them, but they will die before they leave their homes and everyone knows that for the right price a Mercenary will face up to any challenge.
The people of New Reno were able to quickly hire a small army of 400 or so skilled fighters and when the opposing armies came once again to battle over the rubble of New Reno they were surprised by this new force assaulting them and they were repelled. Celebrations were short-lived however as it was a minor victory won through surprise alone. Next time it would be more difficult. Scouts report that the next battle will take place in a little over two weeks. The people of New Reno need help in the face of the impossible, they need your help.
