*On the shore of the great river of Mississippi lies a small town. The townsfolk is nt used to stranger so when a big Harley Davidson rolls in to town everybodys watching. The stranger stops near the local saloon and walks in. He leens against the bar and asks the bartender:*
Hi. A beer please. The name's Kilroy, Pete Kilroy. Either is fine I don't care which of them you use. What's this town called? And where can I find John Law?
 
At the bar.

*The bartender looks at him.*
Keep it down if you don't want to get iced. There IS no law in this town. It's controlled by some mean sons of bitches. Just by telling you this could get me in to trouble.
Who are they?
They call themselves "Children of the Cathedral". Thanx for the info.
*Kilroy pays the beer and walks out. Shit! he thinks. The COC's are all over this place. I must mail Mike. He writes a mail to Rat-catcher.
 
You have mail.

*Kilroy's pip-boy beeps*
Hey old friend.
I'm on my way right now. I think I'll be there in a day or two so just stay put okay. Try to find out more about the COC but don't draw to much attention 'till I get here.
Oh, and get this: I'm wanted for the murder of snake burton!
Well see ya, Rat-catcher.
 
Bad news

*Kilroy sits in a shabby hotel room and is writing notes on his PIPBoy*
Okey, he mumbles to himself. This is what I have dug so far. This little place is called New St. Louis. It's controlled by the C.O.C. That's bad news. They deal with drugs and weapons, good thing I have this.
*Taps at his modified Sniper Rifle.*
About once a week some guys from out of town come in and raid it. Takes food and other supplies.
*Suddenly someone knocks at the door.*
-Who is it?
-Rrrrrrroomservice.
-I haven't ordered anything. Kilroy says and pulls out his Glock and his Solar Scorcher.
*The door is kicked up and two men with drawn weapons storm in, only to get shot down by Kilroy. Suddenly Kilroy feels a sting in his neck. Poisonus darts! He falls down. He can't move.
-Don't worry. he hears a voice say. The darts only stuns you. I hear you have asked some questions about boss. He doesn't like that he's gonna have a small chat with you. then MAYBE he'll
let's you go.
Everything suddenly turns black.
 
The chamber

*Kilroy wakes up. He lies in a small room with no window. He's dresses only in his blue jeans and a t-shirt and his boots.*
-Shit! he thinks. I must get out of here and warn Mike. Damn they stole my PIPboy too!
*He stands up and looks around in the cell. He sees a small plate with some jerky o which he eat, and a small rat-hole.*
-Hmmm, at least I don't have to starve with all the rats.
*He sits down and thinks...
 
Arival

* A vertibird hovers over the farmland surrounding New st. Louis.*
-We should land here otherwise it would attract to much attention.
Bob: You sure we can land here? It's way too dark to see anything outside.
-Don't worry I was one of the best verti pilots of the enclave.
*suddenly a familiar sound is heard from below and a green flash seen.*
-What the...
*A bolt of plasma penetrates the veritbird.*
Bob: Shit we're hit!
-I can't hold it anymore! were going down!
*The vertibird drops out of the sky like a duck brought down by hunters. Yet there is no explosion when it crashes into the ground. Rat-catcher crawls out of the wreckage. He tries to get up but fails and everything goes dark.*

*When rat-catcher opens his eyes he finds himself lying on rome rugs.*
Voice: I think out guest has awakened, Jack.
*Rats sees an old woman standing in front of him.*
-Where... Am... I?
Old woman: Easy now, everything will be allright, my dear.
*An old man steps up and starts talking*
Old man (jack): Yer in New st. louis, son. Home of th' glorious mono-headed brahma!
*Rats rubs his forehead.*
-How did I get here?
Jack: HO boy! Yer lucky t'still b'alive. We found ya next to some crashed mechanicil doohicky. Hell, if I knew what that was. ain't that true martha?
Martha: It sure is. Anyway, we were enjoying our nightly walk when we heard a crash. We checked it out and found you unconsious next to that 'thing'.
Jack: Yeah, an' then those purple dressed freaks showed up.
Martha: He means the Children.
-The COC? What did they do?!?
Jack: ya know 'em, eh? I tell ya that bunch is up to no good. *jack spits on teh ground.*
Martha: How many times have i told you jack, no spitting in doors.
-well, what about the coc?
Martha: Yes, from what we've seen they found another person on the other side of the wreck and carried him off.
-Must be Bob.
Jack: They probably gonna eat him or somethin'. We're just lucky the dinnay see us. *he spits on the ground again again. Martha looks angrily at him* Sorry 'bout that, dear.
Marthaa: That was all two day's 'go.
-TWO DAYS? I've been unconsious for two days?
Jack: yup.
*Rat-catcher gets up.*
-Thanks for your help but i've gotta go now.
Martha: Hold on a minute. *she reaches in some old chest and takes out a rifle with a spiraling barrel. We've found this next to your body, I think you might need it.
Jack: An' take the too. *he hands Rat some Stimpacks.*
-I can't thank you enough, if there's anything i could do to repay you?
Martha: Well, there is. I you se out son, Albert tell him to come home okay. I think he joined that crazy bunch.
-I will, and thanks again.
*Rat-catcher leaves the house*

I'd better send a PIP-mail to kilroy.
*he types something on hsi Pipboy and hits send.*
-Huh? 'Contactng Pipboy not responding?'Something is wrong, I know it!
 
COC

Ferago woke up again in a dark room. This time he was sure he wasn't sleeping. He looked at his leg, it was bandaged up and the pain had gone away. He had no idea where he was. A door opened in front of him. A figure in a purple robe walked in.
Ferago: Who are you and what is this place?
figure in robe: You are in New St.Louis.Iam a child of the Cathedral. You were found in the wastes and brought here.
The figure had a tray with him. On it was some type of food. He handed it to Ferago.

Figure in robe: Eat, you must get strong.
Ferago gave the food a weird look and sat it on the floor.

Figure in robe: I will leave you now.

The figure walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. Ferago heard the door to the room next to his open. "Hello Kilroy" a voice said their was some yelling and then silence. Ferago had to get out of this place.But how? Maby from the fellow in the room next to his? Their was a rat hole in the wall. He might be able to talk to the man in the next room through this hole. It was late and Ferago was tired and he guessed the guy in next room was to. He layed down on his make shift bed and slowly fell to sleep.
 
RE: COC

Bob wakes up in dark room when he hears some screams followed by silence. He looks around the room and sees a rat hole. When he looks through the rat hole he sees a man that looks like he is trying to get some sleep. "Hey, hey you, wake up."
 
An ally

*Kilroy hears someone whispering*
"Hey, hey you, wake up."
*He gets up and says:*
Hey who are you?
Bob: I'm Bob eho are you?
Kilroy: I'm Kilroy. How did you get here?
-I crashed with a vertibird with a guy named Rat-Catcher and...
-You know Rats?!
-Yeah, you know him too?
-Sure, is he allright?
-I don't know. I haven't seen him since the crash about two days ago.
-We must get out of here. Do you have a PIPboy?
-No, they took mine.
-Damn! they took mine too. If we just can get out of here we can escape. I managed to steal a knife from oneof the guards and next time they bring the food I'll try too escape!
 
RE: An ally

Ferago awoke to the voice of the man in the next room talking.Ferago got down next to the rat hole and began to talk.
Ferago: Hey are you Killroy?I herd the guard say your name. Are you planing on making a brake for it?
Killroy: Yep, me and this other prisoner bob are gona try and get out.
Ferago: If their is any way I can help let me know. Cause a distraction or some thing. I gota get out of here.
 
The 'holy' children

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jun-26-00 AT 05:38PM (GMT)[p]*After exploring the town for a while rat-catcher found out that the children controled most of the town. There used to be a small resistance group but it suddenly dissapeared. Since then no-one opposed the COC. He also found out that Kilroy seemed to have rented a small room in the hotel.
When he is about to enter the hotel he sees a ghoul entering the town. Immidiately two figures in purple robes run up to the figure and one of them takes out a cattle prod altough he tries to keep it conceiled. The other wispers something ti the ghoul and they all enter a church rat-catcher hadn't noticed before.*
-(thinks)Gotta check out that church later on.
*Rats enters the hotel, orders a room and asks for kilroy's room.*
Clerk: Oh you mean the one with the long hair. The children found him and took him away. He should be safe in their holy hands. Bless them, they do so much good for this town. Now, is there anything else i can help you with?
-No thank you. And uh.. have a nice day. (to himself) Now that guy's brainwashed!

*Rat-catcher opens the heavy door of the old church.*
-Ehm, hello?
*His voice echo's through the church. When there is no answer Rat-catcher walks futher into the apparently empty building. When he nears the altar he hears a loud noise. He turns a round and sees tha the church door has closed. Then he hears a dark voice from behind him*
Voice: Can I help you.
*when he turns around he sees a man dressed in purple robes. The hood hiding his face in its shadow.
-(startled) uh.. yeah... Is this the children of the cathedral?
Man: it certainly is, what do you desire? Medical attention? Blessings?
-Information actually.
Man: Ah, that. Well speak, my son.
- I just saw two robed men and a ghoul enter. Where did they go?
Man: no-one you describe have entered this buiding. You must be mistaking. Are you in need of more information, child?
- Yeah, what does your cult... eh church worship.
Man: Good question. We don't worship anything in particular. We just seek out the best for man. So is the will of the Prime Being.
-Prime being? Weren't you supposed to worship the master?
Man: You speak of a time long ago. No, the master was just the right hand of the Prime. But if you will excuse me now, I have business to attend to.
-But...
Man: I av no more time for your questions. please leave.
-Please answer--
* the robed man waves his and and two robe guys step out of the shadows. both armed with hunting rifles.*
Man: Please escort our guest to his 'hotel room'.

*outside the two walk past the hotel and force Rat-catcher into an alley. They push him back and one of them aims his rifle at rat-catcher while the other stands guard.*
Robeguy: Time to die, nosey one!
 
RE: The 'holy' children

*as the robed guard is preparing to pull the trigger, a whooshing sound is heard, followed by a scream of a person in who is in a lot of pain. The guard who was about to shoot Rat-catcher turns around and sees his partner fall to the ground with a spear between his shoulders. Suddenly he becomes very nervous, and when he hears shooting nearby, but sees no bullets hit he ducks for cover. Rat-catcher ducks in another direction, and pulls out a small pistol the COC didn't find while searching him, and kills the guard with a well aimed shot between the eyes*
"What a dumb bunch of asses" he hears a voice say "They can't even search a person for weapons properly". "Please put that weapon away, you might shoot me before you see who I am" As Rat-catcher puts away his pistol, a figure jumps from the from a roof out of the shadows. Then Rat-catcher sees that it is Ceasar, the guy he was travelling with, who put down the other guard . "You can't stay out of trouble, can you ?" Ceasar asks. "You know, when you disappeared so suddenly, I decided to follow you, because I was kind of curious what was going down. I lost sight of you pretty soon, but by asking in several villages and travelling in a sort of straight line, I managed to find you here. I heard from someone from a nearby village that some flying thing was shot down around here, so I decided to investigate it, and I saw you being brought here. Luckily I could do something in time. Whatthe hell is going on in this town ? Who are those robed freaks ? And who was that man in that flying _thing_ ?

Sorry to butt in like this, but I'd like to stay posting a little longer here, and because you are about the only ones posting here, I decided to articipate in this story. Also, I've been busy with school a lot, so I wasn't able to posting something earlier.

RE: An ally

"Killroy, has a gaurd come to your room any time today today?"
Killroy: "Yes, why dose it matter?"
"Good. They're going to check my room next. Foot steps! You two stay here, I'llget us out." Bob gets up, pulls out his knife and walks over next to the door. The door slides open and a man in robes walks in. Bob grabs the man and slams him into the wall. Bob holds the knife to the mans neck, "Why am I here and who the ^#:(:( cooks that food?"
C.o.C: "We don't want to hert you and the food is road kill."
"ROAD KILL!" slits the mans throught, That's for feeding me road kill." Bob takes the blue robe off of the man and puts it on himself. He walks out the door and the hall. He turns another hall with many cells. Bob opens one of the doors and sees Ferago. "Come on, we're getting out of here." He opens another door and sees Killroy looking through the rat hole. "Killroy." Killroy gets up and finds Ferago and Bob standing at the door.
Killroy: "Thank God your here. We have to get our stuff back. I think it's on the next floor down."
 
The escape

*Kilroy, Bob and Ferago is running thru a hall. Suddenly Kilroy stops before a door marked "Storage"
-Wait a minute, guys! I'll just check if my stuff is here.
*Kilroy enters the room and the others hears shooting and screaming´, then Kilroy comes out of the room wearing a fedora hat and a long coat with a Rifle over his shoulder*
-Lets go! he says.
-Nice gun, where did you get that? Bob asks.'
-Ohh this? It's an AK5b, a swedish modified Assault and Sniper Rifle. I got in a Military base.
*They run through the building and comes too a great hall. They hear someone talking and someone answering with a mechanical voice*
-Yes oh Primus. We will get them. They cannot escape.
-Good. You know the punishment for failure. The mechanical voice replys.
*Kilroy leans out from their hideout and sees aguy in a purple robe talking to - a computer!
-Hey they've got an AI!
-What the hell is an AI? Ferago asks.
-Atrficell Intelligence. It's a big computer that can think for themselves. Bob replys.
*Kilroy looks at the others and says:*
If they've got an AI then we're in DEEEP shit, amigos.

Misunderstanding

-"Good job tracking me down! Anyway, those robed guys are the so called Children of the Cathedral. A crazy bunch that was supposed to be destroyed about eighty years ago.
The guy in the "flying thing", which is called a Vertibird by the way, was an ex-enclave trooper. the enclave--"
*Rat-catcher suddenly freezes as he notices a man in staring at them through a window behind this one stands another in robes.*
-(whispering) "We'd better get out of the alley since some of the children are spying on us right now."
*He motions to the window. Ceasar nods and they quickly move out of the alley. When they pass the dead bodies of the two guards rat-catcher takes their robes.*
-"I have a feeling we might need these."
 
RE: Misunderstanding

Ferago: "Were are they going?"
-"Let's find out. Stand back." Bob takes Kilroy's rifle and bashes the window open with the but of the gun. he hands the rifle back to Kilroy and crawls out the window. Ferago fallows Bob out and Kilroy throughs his gun out the wondow and crawls out.
Ferago: "Now what?"
-"WE need to find my V bird." Killroy simultaneously said "We need to find Rat-catcher."
-"Okay, we'll find Rats, then we look for my bird."
 
RE: Misunderstanding

*Kilroy, Bob and Ferago walks out the alley and sees two dead guys in their underwear.*
Hmm. I wonder why they're naked. Kilroy thinks.
Igot an idea he says.
*He writes a mail to Rat-catcher:
Where are you? I'm outside a church in New St Louis.
*Kilroy presses the send button.*
 
Bleep!

-"Hey wait I have mail."
*ceasar stops*
C: "Hmm from who ist it?"
-"Seems it's from my friend Kilroy. He says He's outside the church."
C: "Uh... we just came from th church."
*rat-catcher shrugs*
-"I dunno. What do we do now? Go back?"
C: It might be a CoC trap.
-"Yeah, they have his PIP-boy. I have a idea. Ill send him a PIPmail with a question, something only he could know."

Hey kilroy.
Just to refesh my memory: What was my wive's name again? And what building would you truly like to see but wasn't finished when you left New Arroyo?

*a large looking man in combat armor strolls up to the church , the man looks as if he's decent enough , definatly not from around here , he eyes a child outside of the Church as the small girl offers Aera , a flower , he declines it and walks on to see the men in the ally with the Pipboy , he slowly strolls over , his hand lies cautiously near his waste , and his .223 Pistol happens to be there*
