This is it. The end...

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
...I swore if the damn game will crash or freeze ONE more time, I'm hacking it and viewing all mission texts and movie endings. First FOT crashed/froze every 2 hours, then every hour, then every 30 minutes! And I'm on the last bunker!

And whaddayaknow - it DID crash. After I fulfilled my promise, I uninstalled FOT and made a rather easy decision to stop all my FOT activities, namely .ent hacking and possible map making. I can tolerate FOT not being true to the original Fallout, but I will not tolerate it crashing my computer!

It was fun while it lasted.

As far as I'm concerned it makes the game just like fallout 2. I get crashes all the time playing fallout 2, and all sorts of wierd bugs that are far worse, making me either start over or go back to some rediculously old save. Why just before I started playing FOT BS er sorry make that BOS... I was playing a character in fallout 2 with vic along with me and he just disappeared, I didn't think much of it didn't really care for him anyway, so I whent along my merry way, now all the way down serveral cities later I can't enter because vic is carrying a weapon and the locals don't like it so start bursting all over me... so he's apperntly hiding somewhere so I can't tell him to put his damn weapon away...

LOL... they're all the same... push it out the door to make the execs money. Unfortunate that the execs run the business the way they want it, not the way gamers want it. I always rent games before buying them (and/or read several reviews). If it's buggy, I burn it. Pirate it. Rip it. Otherwise I'm perfectly happy to pay for it. It's just my nice little way of saying, "Bah, fuck you" to the execs that push software out the door before it's ready. I encourage you all to do the same ;-)

That's rather odd, since I remember him getting screwed over by EA about Wasteland.

As for Interplay, with their track-record of releasing buggy-ass games, I've got an article I'm writing up for PCGR.com that's going to serve to possibly rally gamers against game producers - POSSIBLY might even enact or set a standard for Consumer Protection Acts or even draw the interest of the Better Business Bureau. The article will detail several instances of sloppily-made games and how they are shoved out the door with little regard. (As for any arguments about "They have so much hardware differences to take into account", I'll nip that in the bud here: DirectX and DirectX certification. Plus, Blizzard has had a model QA dept, and has been able to release games with very few bugs at all. So what's Interplay's excuse?) Then, when a patch is released, it doesn't always take care of all the bugs - then you're in the boat a lot of Fallout 2 players were in, when Feargus "Fuckwit" Urquart announced that 1.02D was the last patch, despite all his other promises to nail all the bugs and a release of a character converter. Then comes Starfleet Command 2, sequentially-denigrating a good game with how it not only botches the older and better system, but with so many bugs it's not funny. Battlecruiser 3k was another bug-fest, so was Fallout 2, Giants is having some problems...need I go on?

I'd hate to see what horrendous bugs would pop up in an Interplay MMORPG. Would likely end up uploading the contents of a user's drive to the Pentagon HUDD by accident....

"Robert, your time has come!"

"OOOH! Thank you, Master!"

"Don't mention it."

*Robert explodes in a shower of sparks*

It's me, Jack Brown! The wind-up ass-hole!
