RE: Ties going back to Fallout 2

Beg pardon all, I had accidently posted this topic before completing it. Here it is:

In Fallout 2, much of the original script and plotline was cutdown for the sake of time. Some issues being: Whatever happened to Sulik and was he reunited back with his sister? Did Cassidy ever get some medication for his heart? Does Harold escape imprisonment from Vault City when they annexed Gecko? Has Vic made ammends with his estranged daughter?

I had expected that most of these issues would be closed with the endgame sequence but that, in itself, was hardly satisfying. So for compensation to me, since I'm such a great Fallout fan and the developers would of course listen to a fifteen year-old boy :D , I'd like to see some of these issues tied into Fallout 3. I don't mean that they should be inside the inear storyline, i.e. find Sulik's missing tribe, but that they could be resolved in a random encounter or evidence of the resolution found in major landmarks. For instance, in Fallout 2, I was glad to see that the Hub and Shady Sands had survived and formed into the NCR and that Harold had become mayor of Gecko. And I especially find it heartwarming to see a monument of the Vault Dweller inside the NCR courtyard. Subtle clues such as these would help but these pondering issues to rest. Just an idea that would build up on the Fallout mood.

I agree, but I would also add that the chosen one can make the necessary amends betweent Vic and his daughter. It is a side quest (at least on Per's walkthrough).

What about Dogmeat? > Should he again raise from the dead to lend a helping paw or bite? Skynet has big chances of reappearing - he could be found somewhere in need of repairs!
Opinions?

RE: Ties going back to Fallout 2

Skynet probably will be back, Harold is has a decent chance depending on when it takes place. Marcus will probably be back.

RE: Ties going back to Fallout 2

Harold has to live! Dogmeat [III (the 3rd)] should be there too.
I hope there's a complex quest for repairing and rebuilding Skynet but you'll need a very high Tech skill (combination of Science and Repair that I hope becomes 1 skill instead of 2 skills that are very similar yet must be upgraded individually.)

It would be cool to see Marcus, probably very old, in a power-armor suit to help him move, like Frank Horrigan, only not evil and less powerful, and he depends on it for survival or something. Oh well, would be cool.

A cool idea would be Lenny's head, which if you do a big quest to bring justice to Lenny's murderer, he tells you knowledge and ups your Doctor skill (combination of Doctor and First Aid that I hope becomes 1 skill instead of 2 skills that are very similar yet must be upgraded individually)

What the game really needs is more quests and really complex quests for each NPC.

Like the individual, gut-wrenching and agonizingly long "side" quests for each single, freakin' NPC in Neverwinter Nights?

Yeah sorta like that. Tomi and that two-axed guy were too simple to get. They're only like a few hundred gold to buy, and Tomi probably ends up unlocking enough chests to yield thousands of assets, and that two-axed guy can kill alot of normally hard creeps, yeiling more profits in loot and exp, and he gives that hp bonus thingy.

Oh yeah this is a FO board sorry. All I'm saying is that I wish the game had harder to get NPC's like Skynet, Marcus, and RoboDog. Although Skynet I didn't like because you have to wipe out all of level 4 to get the part, which was just stupid. Marcus was probably just right, although the quests could've used a few more steps and more thinking and investigation. RoboDog should've had some step like the dog kills the scientist and goes insane and you have to reprogram him with like 100% science check or something. I don't know, I'm just brainstorming. Not like BlackIsle will ever read this LOL why do I even bother...

What was that about Lenny's head? It isn't flying around like Wooz said? I hope not... and you certainly don't need to be a doctor to know how to give first aid... so it's better this way.
One reason i like FO is the lack of spells, wizards, elfs, fairies and the like. Heads that miss a body are just that.

I think he meant head as in "brain-in-a-bottle" which would fit in the Fallout universe as its essentially the same thing as the robo-brains.
