Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
In Fo2 there is a special encounter of a stone arch. If you walk through it you get teleported back to vault 13 sometime before the vault dweller ever recieved his mission of getting the water chip. If you look in the secound storage room on the 3rd floor, obscured by the wall is the soler scorcher. Well, after i picked it up i went to the main computer and used it and it breaks the water chip and gave me some message about how i "felt better and ensured my future" then it teleports me back to the arch and all my npcs are gone...I tried going to other maps, their starting locations, and they are nowhere to be found. Im using the patched version so i dont know what to do. My main char is lvl 44 so i really dont wanna restart and i dont have any other saves....

Ahh i guess we must integrate the threads subject matter into our intelectual conversation...here it goes....Well i havent had any luck finding a way to get m npcs back. Anyone care to help?

I wonder what would happen if you bred a horse and a koala, then crossbred their offsprings genes with a seal......
 
You just had the most interesting and ironic random encounter of the game. You can find more about it on one of the dev profiles that NMA has been doing.

Im readin through that FAQ right now and it says somthin about the map resetting after you leave it, and all items there will vanish. It appears that npcs sometimes also vanish... Thanks for the info!
 
you dont have any more savegames?? I remember reading these lines every two minutes in the survival guide: Use those differant save slots, and Save often...Geeze, start doing that, NOW!
 
Ahh but i do use two save slots...unfortunately one of them is inside the "past" vault 13, and the other is after it teleported me back without my squad...
