Tips for a Wasteland first-timer

Silva

First time out of the vault
I will try this one, since its considered one of the best RPGs of all time, and is claimed to have a great gameplay like Fallout (or is Fallout that have a gamplay like Wasteland? ).

But here comes the problem: this game maybe didnt get old too well, cause the interface is terrible. So I need some general tips about how to better enjoy it. (I have already converted all songs in Fallout to MP3, for hearing while I play it). Also got mo'slo too.

So, anymore tips for a first-timer who is intimidated by the its interface and controls?

Thanks.

Silva, please don't double post, especially not with a time span of a minute between posts. The edit function exists for a reason.

As for Wasteland, it is very dated, and frankly that's why I could never get myself to play the game. Maybe I should give it a second chance.

Ops.

Sorry. :)

BTW, im trying it right now. The PC version requires the reading of a separated plot booklet. How about the commodore64 version?

Im leaving agricultural center now. And I really think this game is so old that its barely playable anymore. I see why Wasteland was very sophisticated in its time, but today... its too unfriendly.

The Paragraph Book was a means of anti-piracy protection, also, it helped keep the C64 version small. The text could easily fit in the PC version, but meh, just print out the booklet.

Does anyone know what Programming language it was made in?

Assembly/machine language. Sadly enough that's the main reason that the sequel was scraped; the main programmer somehow lost the code and no one involved had backups or knew much about how it was made, so rather than start again from scratch they cancelled it.
