To the developers: A Fallout suggestion

First time out of the vault
Realtime percentage odds of hitting bodyparts when targetting an enemy. So (optionally) no pauses when using the VATS. Could be great for multiplay too!

So when VATS is set to not pause the game, you aim your weapon at a bodypart during combat and the percentage will show! (could be more challenging, because hitting a moving target is harder than pausing the game and then choose which bodypart to hit!)

This will develop a gameplay that's almost like an FPS but then with the chances of successfully hitting a bodypart being displayed in real-time!

In an FPS its already hard enough to hit your target anywhere in the body adding % would be kinda redundant.

So even if you see the % what do you do then? You have to aim for the head manually? Or set the gun to an 'aimed shot' mode and it auto-targets the selected area with every shot?

I'm just thinking if your aiming for the head and you manage to get your crosshairs on it, you shouldnt have a % to hit it... you've done the work to hit the head and a % would be redundant.

Bah.. stupid VATS!

I like the VATS!

But pausing the game while using VATS will slow the gameplay and lower the challenge a teeny-weeny bit...
(It's harder to aim at and hit a specific bodypart, like an arm or head, when your target is moving!)

If you've played the previous Fallout titles, you should know that that's the way the game is played!

The % determines how great (or small) the chances are of hitting your target. And that depends on the amount of points you have placed in your character's combat skills.

Example: If your character is a deadeye at close range you should see 90% when you ("manually") aim at the head and shouldn't miss. (but your character could still miss, allthough the chances of missing is only 10%!)

It's just a matter of aim and shoot.

If you know your character's aim is not superb, you should see 10% when you aim at the head and 80% when you aim at the torso. So, with such % you should aim for the torso during combat!

So the % is not "redundant".

I'm pretty damned sure that the previous Fallout titles didn't require you to manually aim in real-time at all but they allowed you to carefully weigh your options in a turn-based system.
So ehm, what?

VATS

I find it kind of compicated with VATS + FPS + fallout stats:

when you start the game and have only low chances of even hitting an oponent, why would you use VATS? You are more certain to hit your oponent without the VATS if you aim manually. Or will manual hit rate also be affected by stats?
