To The Ocean EP ( Fallout inspired )

Going to release my second E.P next week and it's Fallout inspired, yay ! I've worked on the FanMadeFallout soundtrack for a bit in 2006 I think and at the time I was going for a very similar sound but this one is a bit different.
I wouldn't say that it's Dark Ambient ( I'd say it's guitar oriented and it has a lot of synths ) but I suppose some of you might enjoy it because some of the atmospheres and textures sound a bit like Mark Morgan's work.

Anyway, here is a small teaser :

Hope you like.

If someone is interested in illustrating my music, please just let me know :)

Can't say that I enjoyed the piano patterns, but I really enjoyed your slower guitar tunes. Really atmospheric. I like it! :)

It's pretty good mixed aswell, good job.

Thanks !

Yeah, I think the piano patterns really could be better too. I think I'm going to invest in a proper midi synth controller and keyboard and work on my playing because right now it's mainly programming and it's hard for me to come with organic sounding pianos atm.

As far as mixing goes, I'm trying my best thanks. :D I'm never quite satisfied with my mixing either because there are usually 20 to 30 tracks in a same song and mixing them means making sacrifices but I suppose it's the same for everybody else  As long as the final result is ok ;)

Working on these songs made me realize how good the Fallout soundtracks were. Mark Morgan's work sounds so natural and effortless...

Yay, it was a bit too jazzy for my taste, but overall I think it was a good job!

However your choice to stay in the middle of the road - between Mark Morgan's music that could remain an ambiance sound (that could se faire oublier) and the traditional loud, noisy music (:D) resulted in a quite awkward album: not unpleasant to listen, but being not a soundtrack and not a "stand-alone" album made it a bit weird  I don't really know how to express it. Some times it's really an ambiance piece of music, then a few seconds later you're thrown into a song that is too noisy for this kind of tracks - maybe the use of drums, guitar and piano made it this way.

Anyway this was only a small remark - I was pleased to listen to this and to hear tracks that could sometimes remind me of Fallout. :ok:

Post scriptum: I can't (on this computer) download anything, so I couldn't hear the EP, but I had some good feeling about it - is it on youtube somewhere?
