Toggling/removing mods

First time out of the vault
Forgive me if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. I'm new to NMA, this forum, and modding FO3.

I'm very interested in the F3C mod. I'm downloading it now. I've also downloaded a Hi-Rez mod. But I'm a little uncertain how I'll like them, or whether my rig can handle them. So, I'd like to know:

a) Is there an option in the regular game menu system to toggle which mods (vanilla, mod 1, mod 2, etc.) to use (a la Dawn of War)?

b) How easy is it to remove mods if I don't like them?

Some of the mod installation instructions are rather vague so it's unclear how easy it is to uninstall a mod.

adding or removing the mods if they are in *.esp file comes just to check/uncheck the marker on the mod list

What more would you like to know?

Well, for example, the installation notes in the F3C read me file do not metion that you have to click Data Files in the first mini menu screen and then check the F3C box in order to use it. I had started a new game and made it to the GOAT before I noticed there was no change to the TAG system and knew something was wrong. Now, that's certainly a newb mistake, and I know I won't make it again, but the name "Data Files" is not quite as clear as "Mod Manager" or something, so it would be helpful to have explicit instructions.
