Too Much Color?

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Now, I don't necessarily mind Fallout 4 having a bit more color than previous titles, but I almost feel like there is just too much color. A lot of things in the world look like they were given a fresh coat of pain with just a little bit of rust on top. I mean, paint fades over time, there's bound to be some desaturation in color. This is just my opinion, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

The aliens from Mothership Zeta gave everything a new paint job in incognito mode while no one was looking.

I personally liked the green tint of Fallout 3 but apparently they felt that was "depressing" which to me makes no sense because it's literally the end of the world.

I like it in its own way though. Fallout 3's ambience was the green tint. The Commonwealth's ambience is that misty pink/purple sky/sunrise. Each game has it's own ambient color.

That's a good point. And yea, I really enjoyed the green tint of Fallout 3. I think the ambience of the Glowing Sea was pretty well done in Fallout 4 and reminded me a lot of Fallout 3's atmosphere, so I at least have to give Bethesda some props for that.

It's because of the bombs, the intense radiation mutated the wasteland into a place more colorful than Disneyland.

While I've stopped and thought "wow, that color is way too saturated" a few times while playing, on a whole I have to say I like that they added a bit more color this time around. They could have dialed it back a little bit, but there are enough wilderness areas with less color to make up for it.
