To those playing in tough guy mode, how fast do you find you're leveling? Is it balanced?

I'm thinking of starting a tough guy game, but it is such an investment! Just wondering whether you find it rewarding or not....

im at mission9(st.louis) and my main caracter is lvl 12
thats strictly mission exp..no desert exping yet..

if youve played this far whit an regular carcater then you can compare your lvl to mine

First of all, "tough guy mode" is a goss misnomer. When reloading the whole level is on the line if any one of your characters die, you definitely play it by the book. "Ultracautious mode" is more like it.

I've just before the first robot mission... can't remember the name and I'm level 25. In addition, I spend a lot of time in the wasteland expending extra ammo for experience.

Overall, I think that even with Tough Guy mode, it is too difficult to level up at higher levels. From level 25 to 26 requires 400,000 XP! I'm guessing that level 30 or so will be the max.

On the other hand, once you are familiar with the weak AI, you start to look for any method available to make the game a challenge. I play tough guy mode at hard difficulty level and find it moderately challenging.
