Toxic caves base?

First time out of the vault
sorry i dont know if this has been adressed and i couldnt find any reference to it in the bible, but does any one know what the small base in the back of the toxic caves near the trapper you go to rescue is.

If I'm not mistaken, that base is the abode of humble and sacred *Ozrat*. So be careful while prancing about there, y'hear?
 
I think I once posted something on how you could get a secret weapon there... I'll look it up if I have time.
 
Edit to make post more relevant: I don't think there's anything especially important about the Toxic Caves bunker, it just seems to have been put in as a "loot location" for the Bozar. However, since you can find a Bozar elsewhere it's pretty much pointless (not counting the trapper quest). Silencer's hypothesis seems the most plausible for a backstory, though.
 
Your answers are pretty irrelevant to the subject, since they relate to gameplay issues, not the game world, and Piers asked for something completely else.

The best lead would be what Smiley tells you, that they are an ammunition bunker of some sort, converted from a toxic waste dump. Maybe the military set up such bunkers in remote places to act as base for resistance fighters once the Reds invaded and occupied the country, who knows?
 
Its most likely what Silencer suggests, a weapons cache for surivors, well, those with military backrounds anyways.
