Yeah, America's Army is not working out for me. After a four hour download, it's not working.

It came in two files, one which I only know as an application type file, and one which is apparently a ".exe.part" file. If I click on either, windows doesn't recognize it. What do I do?

Ehe, your download is fucked up. The '.exe.part' is a temporarily file that wasn't finalised by the download application.
What happens if you try running the application file (which is just an exe file)?
Also, you could try renaming the .part file to just .exe and run it like that.

It won't allow me to rename the file, the application file will give me the error "Not a valid Win32 application."

Right then, as I said, the download program fucked up. The only thing you can do is retry.

Also, what do you mean by 'it won't allow me to rename the file'? Does Windows suggest not to rename the file, or does it say the file is still in use? If the latter is the case, close your download application and browser.

It says that there is another file with that name, although there isn't. I closed the download application and browser, same thing.

Yes there is, that's the application file.
Sheesh, man, Windows hides known extensions by default.

Okay then, last thing you can attempt to do, delete the application file, rename the .part file to .exe and try to run that. If that doesn't work, you'll just have to download again.

Also, please try to give a lot more info next time you have a technical question. otherwise this back and forth questionnaire would not have been necessary.

Hehe, why didn't you just redownload it as Sander said? And search for the file first and delete it.

Between you and me though, you're not missing much...

Ok, I did what you said, it changed miraculously into an installer, and when I go to install, it says it's missing the file I just deleted.

That's pretty much impossible.

Also, the files do not change at all. Windows just recognises them now that they have a different extensions.
Sheesh.

Anyway, go re-download. That's all you can do now.

What is that, the fifth time I've said that?

*Bump

Okay, Dove and I need backup in our beautiful Order clan. There's only the two of us and even though we kick ass they are threatening to delete the clan from the clan tracker site thingie unless more people join.

Now is the time to take up arms in the name of everything that we hold sacred (pwning) and against the things that threaten our way of life (getting pwnd and/or deleted).

Erm I did download the game and registered, but it didn't send me back an email confirmation....

Right, I've installed, DDD, do you have xfire, or can you tell me the name of your acount?

Go to aaotracker.com and register.

Clan ID number is: 51054

PM me for password.

Not competing, there's only two of us... :retarded:

It's possible if we can wrangle enough members.

Right, I have finally started playing. How do you guys find this enjoyable!? The parachute course alone is fucking putting me off. Its barely explained, i'm dropped from the tower, i frantically press e, i hear a crunching sound, and i sit through the fucking briefing again. Fun stuff!
