Trouble with the High res patch for fallout 2

I copied the high res patch for fallout, ran it and everything went fine up until the screen prompting me to click "Enable" for the patch to run. It says fallout 2 executable not found. I followed info found here

and none of these tips worked. If anyone can help me I'd certainly appreciate it

Don't know if your OS is Vista/Win7 & your FO2 is installed in C:\Program Files. If both yes, try installing the game somewhere else, like C:\Games\Fallout2.

I got a problem with a high -res patch aswell. When i start up game, i see intro and then game exits after 1 sec, giving me no further information. Tried to change settings, nothing works. Can't figure its patch's fault or computer's. If i disable patch, everything going ok. Got windows XP. Tried swtich settings, but no luck.

I have the same problem, crash to desktop after 1 second of loading sreen with both fallout 1&2 high res patch, also running windows xp. Tried all settings and running as admin..

reinstall in other directory doesn't solve the problem. I guess it is connected with XP OS or video settings, not sure.

Open fallout2.cfg and change art_cache_size=... to art_cache_size=0 or delete fallout2.cfg. Sometimes this helps.
