First time out of the vault
So I just started playing fallout again because I need something to do every day on my hour break between college classes that doesn't involve studying. I load it up and kill a rat and I did somewhere around 400k damage. Is one of my data files busted? If so, is there an easy way to fix it?
 
Clean install. It doesn't effect the gameplay at all, its like all damage done is upped but at the same time the enemies have an insane amount of health. I've only killed the first rats so far, haven't gotten into the game yet because of time.
 
Can we get some screenshots, including looking at their health with Awareness?
I'd like to see "Rat was hit for 400,000 damage and was killed." ;)

Didn't this problem have to do with the DDRAW.DLL or something?

I tried to screen shot it, but it turned out crappy, I'll try another.

Its insane, I was like "Wait, what?"

The thought of doing that has occured, but now I'm thinking doing so much damage is pretty freakin awesome... might keep it for the funny factor.

Haha. Well, if it doesn't really effect the gameplay it's not a big deal, eh?

Are the enemies able to reciprocate the damage? If so, there's no real problem aside from the number displayed.

Also, what kind of attacks are affected? Melee or ranged?
 
For the first time I'm actually playing a small arms toon. The pistol shot is whats doing the insane damage. Gimmie a minute to try and get a good screen shot, I just got done watching a movie.

Heres a pic from my camera phone since a print screen won't work. I used an aimed punch for the body.

To be 100% honest, it is a copy of my buddy's install file because my game disk won't work. I am in the process of trying to find another copy of the game, I'm sure you guys can point me in the direction of one.

Pressing F12 dumps a screenshot in your game folder.

Gotcha, I'm gunna try to grab a copy when I get paid.
 
Strange... does it really say 'were' in the game? I have always thought (if I have paid any attention on spelling) it's 'was'. ( I mean the part
This or that was hit for HOLY SHIT amount of damage.)
Just to check, I took a look to Critical hits thread in this same forum (my Fallout is currently unavailable and waiting a certain lazy ass to reinstall it because of a stupid mistake) and it says there was.

I apologize. Or should it be 'I apologise'? Sorry.
