I think this deserves a warning or something like with Mr. Teaky, because modders don't 'send' files, this board is not a get in touch with modders by email board. You post your problems here and we help you solve them.
Anyway, to answer your question:
You need to edit the scripts and the character files and the map files as well as the combat AI files, to mention a few.
You would have to wait 'till VIPP is released to edit the scripts, unless you did it manually with hex. This is because if you copy and pasted and renamed the scripts, the Fallout Engine would get confused and something odd would happen to your 'mutant bodyguard'.
The character (critter) files are easy to edit. Just FUCK 'em
All you would need to do with the map files is change the characters appearance and/or inventory.
And the combat AI is fairly easy to edit.
