US Military Vaults?

Are there any underground bases in your neck of the woods?

I came across this List of US underground bases.<blockquote>This is a list of known or suspected U.S. Underground Bases, the purpose of each (hey, I'm just passing on the reports...), how they're set up and any other info known about them. Although most of these are supposed to be a secret, this list is culled from publicly available records (is that good or bad?) and of course people who worked in them, live by them or those who have retired and offer info. Some wish to remain anonymous. Some have written to me with stories that have been terrifying - just to tell me things - not meaning for me to put them up. I have a bad habit of keeping secrets, which is good. The map, which is large, has been made into a pop-up window so you can minimize it as you read the list, and not have to flip between pages. Mouse over the pins for the location. </blockquote>Check out the map.

Any in your neighborhood?

1. Mt. Rainier, Washington
Function unknown.
Levels: Multiple
Tunnels to: Unknown
Notes: A very active UFO base exists beneath Mt. Rainier. There are also said to be underground "vaults" containing
records of the ancient Lemurians.

Lemurians? What the fu...

Heh. There are explored and unexpolred underground tunnels in my city spanning 500 years of history.

Some are from the Ottoman wars, some from WW2 and some are even (nuke) shelters built during the Cold War.

there was this remodeled US missile silo/base i saw once. it's now a 'house' (or rather an apartment, because it's so darn big). but the neat thing is, they kept the controlroom and the general retro 50's look of things. you'd probably miss the sun a bit, but it'd still own to live inthere, i think.

as for the conspiracy stuff: fun to read but bullocks. sure, there's always something shady going on, but dont overdo it guys :p

Yeah, dude. Unlike them Poles, we're capable of actually contributing to the world.

Parts of east Kansas salt mines were leased for office equipment storage.
A TV infotainment show had a 3 minute, close focus, tour,
featuring vintage steel desks, swivel chairs, and Ma bell, military spec. dial telephones.

which might be the underground mentioned near Culpepper Va., or might not.

Many an old boy whose third grade education and life time on small farms allowed them to not be drafted for the first round of Korean Service,

some where in ... the Appalachians.

Hah.

"You've come, good. We're running out of toilet paper, and we need you to fetch some. Just... be safe, ok?"

Unfortunately, I guess the government saw no reason to put any vaults in the barren prarie wastelands of North Dakota. We got buffalo, though!

My recruiter refused me to give me a ball-point pen of his due to there being a recall on them because a few recruits hurt their eyes from clicking it too much, causing the pen to burst apart and send shrapnel in every direction.

I really find this stuff intriguing, and it would amazing to see these sites and be able to walk through them.

Sorry, if this is a stoopid question, but why are they clustered towards the west of America?

1. Arizona (Mountains) (not on map)
Function: Genetic work.
Multiple levels
Hmmm...

2. Fort Huachuca, Arizona (also reported detainment camp)
Function: NSA Facility
Notes: (I lost the name of who sent me this..let me know..)
"Having spent the better part of my life there I can assure you of only one thing, it is THE communications command central for the entire US Army (and rumored to be for the entire US forces) No phone call, two way radio transmission, satellite transmission, fax, etc., within the Army goes undocumented and un "cleared" by this facility. It is VERY high on the "first to be hit in a nuclear war" list, (as supposedly most communications with the Army are actually routed though there) thus all the missile silos that were (not really) deactivated around Tucson, some 75 miles to the NW".

As I live in Tucson, I am very aware of this one. It is practically the military base of my area. Worried that this one is still a high-priority nuke target due to its communication significance.

A very nice list of places you might want to hide in/flee from during various apocalypses.

Actually I have heard a bit about the idea of turning missile silos into residence.

Arent' those silos the primary targets for a nuclear attack? If global nuclear war ever breaks out, that'd be the worst place to be.

Also, AFAIK, no human-built structure besides NORAD can withstand a direct nuclear hit, and that's because it's under a mountain composed mostly of solid rock.

well, lets hope the spy satelites are paying attention when the army removes the missiles & puts up a 'for sale' sign on the property...

Nah. I think those would be nuked "just in case" there's still something in them.
