V Trailer

It does look pretty rockin', though I fear it may come off as a little TOO preachy. Spoonfeeding ideas like "Fascism is bad" isn't my idea of a good time.

It's also from "The Creators of the Matrix Trilogy." So I'm sure it will be preachy.

You are right to fear that Brady. One of the things I loved about the graphic novel V is that the enemy could actually be right, and V could just be a sociopathic terrorist.

So instead of Z for Zorro we have V for Vendetta?

I like Natalie Portman but this looks like more comic book stuff.

Alan Moore called the script "imbecilic" and sued to have Joel Silver retract his statement that Moore approved of the movie, so I don't have any hope for this movie being good. I'll still see it of course, but I'm pretty sure it will be an awful adaption, like League of Extrordinary Gentlemen except with Matrix-style FX.

I know Montez, but face it, Moore is probably a little skiddish after the last two movies, and he's never really been the sanest tool in the shed.

I'm pretty sure Alan Moore hates everything. Granted, he's been fucked over before, but, eh.

It doesn't look too terribly bad, although I know it's cut out some of the subplots and minor characters. The focus is more on Evey and V. I don't mind that, however, as I thougt the novel got bogged down in subplots and characters that really didn't do much for the overall story.

Maybe this is where Moore has his gripes.

If the novel was adapted page for page into movie form, it would be pretty hard to watch, and I doubt it would sell many tickets.

You guys both make good points and I hope you're right; as much as I'm trying to err on the side of pessimism I'm really looking forward to this one.

Hmm, never heard of this before but it looks pretty awesome. I'll agree that League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was pretty disappointing, I was expecting a lot more from that. - Colt

I first saw this preview in theatres, and I am definitely looking forward to this film.

Did anyone else notice who is playing the dictator guy? eh? EH? :D

Here is a good article about V for Vendetta.

I enjoyed League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I was definitely disappointed. Ah well. Connery was still pretty good.

Oh, yeah, I did enjoy it but it felt like it was really... Shortened or something. Build up of this band, or league in this case, of super talent only to... Not do much with them. These super weapons that the villains had didn't even show up that much. I like the visuals in it and Connery but eh, hope they'll make a second and better one. - Colt

Wait... I thought it was V for Victory... That old sci-fi mini-series back in the 80's.
