Valves ass kicked hard

Valve used to be top for fan and community support. Now it's become worthy of the parallel:

"Interplay Entertainment Corp. is a leading developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment software for both core gamers and the mass market. "

He's gonna get his ass in a lawsuit over the NDA thing. "But it's pointless to deny now" shit won't fly with the lawyers.

That would asumme a couple of things. That the fellow really has anything to sue for, and if Valve really wants any more bad publicity over what would be clearly petty vindictiveness.

That's just fucking great. The two games I was looking forward to, that filled my life with meaning, Fallout 3 and Half-life 2, are on the same level: great games made (or not) by capitalist swine-corporations, Interplay and Valve. A constant stream of bad news from these EA wannabe companies has seriously put me off gaming. No game I play, be it Far cry or UT2004 feels really great and fun the way it used to.

I'm noticing this is a trend in the gaming industry nowadays; ripping off gamers and feeding them with insulting lies. Just take Ninja gaiden for instance. Censored in the whole of Europe just because Germany feels like having it censored. Well Microsoft, take this. The gaming industry was much better in the old days, when it was small, unknown and hated, seen as geeky. Now it's constantly being whored out by the media and taking blowjobs by gamers. To sum it up, gaming is getting old. The gaming industry needs a good cleansing.

Who needs industry anyway? There's internet freeware and shareware, and if you don't think a game is worth the money, no way someone can stop you from downloading warezed version. You can't win a battle against the consumers.

Geez, Darky, knock on wood.

It would be a shame if that happened, Troika doesn't play the publicity games that Valve seems so fond of, yet they may have to suffer because of Valve's stupidity. Of course, it's not like Troika hasn't found itself shortchanged before in relationships with other companies.

I'm willing to bet that if Bloodlines gets delayed, it will be because Valve doesn't want it to ship before HL2 - it would be pretty embarrassing for them if a company came out with a game on their engine before they did, and they certainly don't need any more embarrasment at this point.

How is STEAM working out for you guys? I've been wanting to pick up Half-Life for a while now, but I haven't because I thought that I read that you can't even play the single player game without using steam. Is that true?

If you don't have Half-life, you should definitely get it. It is truly one of the best games ever. Steam keeps having problems and fills your HD with unnecessary files, not sure whether you need it to play single player though. I didn't, but then I have the old-skool version of HL from 98. Also, Steam seems to work fine for me now. The only thing that was really bugging out all the time was my friends list (not that I use that often :P).

Oh, and if you buy HL, you should really really download Sven coop: www.svencoop.com Cooperative multiplayer is the bestest!

Steam takes a half hours to open on my p3 800mhz with 256 meg of ram, with cable connection. I mean wtf (ok it's 5 minutes, but five minutes is still very long)

I'd be getting it just for the single player part - UT2004 is pretty much all I need as far as multiplayer games go. There's no way I'm going through some authentication process every time I play, and there's no way in hell I'm letting Valve download hundreds of megs of multiplayer crap to my harddrive without my permission. I guess I'll just have to search for a pre-steam copy.

Yeah, Steam is shit, but at least you don't need it to play single player Half-Life(if you keep the original on the system).

they tried to do some fixing so you wouldnt have to have an internet connection to play on lan and stuff. that seems to work atm.

i wont go into details but all in all, it's just a steaming pile of shit

(i used to be addicted to CS)

This is what happens when companies release bullshit that gamers neither needed or wanted. Now they lost a chunk of their fans because of the steam system.
