First time out of the vault
First of all: Hi to everyone :D

I recently discovered the Van Buren Tech Demo at the Fallout wiki. I'm really excited about the demo, cool sound, deep atmosphere and so on. After "playing" two or three minutes i realized that this was, what Fallout 3 should've been like.

Then, strange things came into my mind. Things like "Why not programm it to finish" ^^ The wiki says, that the engine is almost complete, 75% of the dialogues, so many things of van buren are known to the community etc.

Actually I'm a total newb in such "pc-programming" things ;>

So was this ever tried or is there a working Van Buren where you can play the game? Or is it completely impossible what I have on my mind?

The thread belongs here, I think.

I'd love to be able to play it, but you should consider that the actual engine is supposed to be really buggy, and noone here have the source code, as far as I know. This means that completing the engine would require reverse engineering it, which is a very hard task.
I think it's more doable a mod that shares the setting of Van Buren than actually completing it.
But if anyone comes with another idea, I'll do everything I can to help.
 
As far as i know, and if i remember correctly, there was only an executable there, no source code.
