Vendors stop restocking?

First time out of the vault
The midget trader in the tent outside NCR and the chinese trader in San Fransisco suddenly stopped restocking in my savegame. Has anyone else experienced this? It's a pain in the ass because I don't know where else to find ammunition for my energy weapons.. :cry:
 
This bug is weird - it seems to happen a lot to a few people but never to most. Some people seem to get a variant where the shopkeepers' current inventory disappears as well. As far as I know nothing is known about the cause or solution, except it's likely not because of a bad copy.
 
Per has spoken.

You may find some, but not too many Fusion Cells for sale with Smitty at the Den. Also, you can steal a lot of it in Navarro.
 
I just killed everyone in Navarro, but the bastards used most of their ammo on me while fighting. I'll just have to check the Den then. Thanks for the help and the fast response guys...
 
Try to find encounters with raiders inside the cave. The guys are pretty tough, but extremely rich in different ammo, even gauss EC. Try searching to the north-west of New-Reno.
 
If you have sold too much kinds of items to one trader, he won't be able to restock his ware then, I think this is the problem, and I've read this in Per's fallout2 guide----It seems that Per has forgotten it himself? :)

Yea i had problems aswell when i tradet to much weapons and other stuff with the shopkeepers... I dont get any problems when i pay with money or give him the one type of weapon..

Maybe it would be a good idea to put in a shopkeeper that gives you money only for items. a like junk master ?
 
I've bought everything he offered, even all the armor, but when I returned he still did't have the essential gauss ammo! No wonder I shot that useless b*stard...

Whether or not gauss ammo will be restocked is like a dice roll, and the chance of getting it is low. If its not stocked this time around that just means there wasn't a successful % chance "roll" of it happening. In buster's shelves that chance is 25% on each restock check.

Oh no!! I've killed him 2 levels ago! (I'm on the 63rd now). Quite painful to load...
