Victoria

Hovercar Madness

Still Mildly Glowing
Don't you people understand that while you're all fondly ejaculating on your new HOI cd-rom, there's a much cooler game out there by the same maker? Granted, I've only played the first one, and gave up pretty soon, but I still bet this other game is still way better.

Which game? The thread title pretty much spoiled the surprise already, but it's Victoria. Awesome game, y'all. All sorts of fun politics and statistics and factories and stuff which makes it far more kick ass than even *shock* EU 2.

Before you start "old news, fag"-ing me, they just released this awesome (yes, second time I use awesome in a single post, sue me) 6-pack of games by paradox which happens to include this little gem. Go buy it, ya moocher, and go online, 'cause there isn't shit to play with on the paradox servers and the AI is crap.

That game is so complicated that the economy is still broke a year or so after release.

mmm not to be a bum and refuse to look it up but what games come in that six pack? I have EU 2 and crown of the north (which i've spent a good... hour with? I don't know... too much for me too handle :-\) and HOI which I've spent quite some time with. Would it still be worth buying or are those two the starlets of the pack (besides victoria :))

Hmm.. I heard this complaint before, but didn't find it in practice. I kinda like the whole supply/demand thing they got going on the world market. The only gripe I had with the economics was the "capitalists" POP, which for some unknown reason increased factory production. Sheesh...

Nah, I wouldn't bother then. Games are:

-HOI
-Victoria
-EU2
-EU2 asian chapters (haven't tried this one yet, but I never fancied playing with asian countries anyway)
-Crown of the North
-Two Thrones (something with france and england)

I mostly used the pack to update my... uhm... not entirely legal copies of EU2 and HOI.

That said, Victoria is still a ripping good larf. Buy it in non-six-pack form, ya bum.

Has anyone played the previous "crown of the north" games? I remember playing the first one years ago, set from about 1560-1800, if I recall it correctly. I think these games only exist in swedish though (there were two, svea rike 1 and 2).

Well, Two Thrones sucks big time. Other than that, it seems like a pretty good deal.

And while I like Victoria, I like HOI 2 better.
