Ok so for the past several days I've been trying to figure out why I couldn't get the Jonas Fallout 2 Mod (MAC) to work.
It wasn't that the proto files were disappearing its if they didn't vanish I'd be unable to save.
So I could play the mod just fine I just couldn't save which is a major problem.
Now I was able to get the Miria mod to work
*After examining the folder tree in Jonas, I was able to install Miria successfully by figuring out what went where.
Now the thing is not only did the mod appear to function (Miria had 75hp instead of 35). I could save, so its proto files weren't a problem.
Finally I figured it out. The item and creatures files in the Miria mod were configured to open with simple text. While the ones extracted from the Jonas Fallout 2 Mod were set to Text Edit or nothing depending on the program I used to unpack it. That being the only difference I could find I changed the Proto files in the jonos mod to open with simple text before setting the entire folder to read only.
And it worked not only did I see the immediate effects of the mod ( the spear's vastly increased damage)
But I could save I didn't get the dam error.
I have no clue why it worked none. It will be a couple days before I actually get to enjoy the mod as I have a final to study for, a paper to write and my D&D night
