To me, having a combat system that rely on computerized dices to predict the outcome of a fight is like playing virtual-virtual reality (you put your headgear, and this device simulates the experience of wearing a device that simulates reality). The dice Combat system was a tool to simulate combat on Pen & Paper RPGs (PPRPG), and when the game genera migrated to the computer, the people behind it created a method for simulating the simulation of combat, instead of creating a method for simulating combat.
