Want to play F1 and F2 before F3... need help with mods

First time out of the vault
Greetings!

After freeing up time in my schedule to play Fallout 3... I am waiting until Fallout 3 releases. :-) So I just came up with the brilliant idea that I should replay Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 while waiting for release day. I still have the original CDs. My question is around modding.

Here is kind of a summary of my needs:
* I would like to play the game windowed if possible, since it makes it easier to squeeze in a few hours at work.
* Any additional content (I still want to play through the original stories) would be lots of fun. It would give me some surprises in games I have played many many times.
* Obviously, I would like the most amount of bug fixes. Crashing is never any fun.

So, for both Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, can you recommend which mods I should install and in what order (to make sure I end up with as stable of game as possible)?

Thanks for your help! Hope to hear from you soon....

Here you should find all needed information.

--------------------------------EDIT

And here.

So just for all others, this was the list provided in the other thread:

Fallout 1
Fallout 1 Children Patch
Fallout Patch 1.3.4 ENG TeamX
Fallout1 Resolution Patch v1.1
Fallout NPC Mod v3.4 English version
Fallout Update Mod v1.2.5 english version
Timeslip Fallout engine tweaks for Windows 2000/XP/Vista

Fallout 2
Fallout 2 Childrens Patch
Fallout2 Resolution Patch v1.6
Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch (US/UK - installer)
Fallout 2 Restoration Project Installer Version
MIB88 MegaMod 2.34
Timeslip Fallout 2 engine tweaks for Windows 2000/XP/Vista

So just to check...

Are any of these patches mutually exclusive? Is this just the OPTIONS or the complete list of patches to install?

Second, are they listed in the order to install where they will not overwrite each other?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I can only speak for Fallout 2...

If u want an unmodified game with just what was in the original but bug free, install FO2 and then just unofficial patch by killap...

If u want some extra content which was supposed to be in the game but wasnt implemented, install FO2 and then RP 1.2 (but u should wait, any day now there should be RP 1.3 coming out)

If u want pretty much a totally new game, install FO2 and then the Megamod.

As far as i know, after that just install the Resolution patch (its compatible with all of those), read the readme or instructions or whatevers inside ,change the resolution and enjoy the game...

And yeah, megamod, unofficial patch and RP all all mutually exclusive

Ugh. Ok, So I installed FO2 Humungous, installed official patch 1.2, downloaded Megamod (I have never tried it out) and copied it over into the Fallout2 directory, installed the Resolution patch, and set the proto directory as read only. All set I thought...

So think I click on the Fallout2 application and... nothing. The pointer flickers for a second and then business as usual. So any ideas on what I screwed up? :-( Thanks for all your help!

And there be your first mistake... I think it clearly says that Megamod (and all other mods for that matter) go on top of a CLEAN install (no official patches or anything)....

Go http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/FO2_mod_install_guide if u dont believe me
