Warhammer Online leads people into multithousand dollar debt

Grimhound

Still Mildly Glowing
Warhammer Online and Dark Age of Camelot have overcharged users, spamming past and present user billing information for amounts up to several thousand dollars. Stacking overdraft fees onto this, the current highest known casualty is greater than $5,000 USD. EA Mythic has come out stating that all issues will be resolved, yet banks within the United States are refusing to waive overdraft fees. The current estimate of those effected is 1/4th the total all-time user base for varying sums of money. Check your credit and bank accounts accordingly.

'EA/Mythic charging me 21 times for Wahammer online, plus my bank charges me $1.7 million in fees.'

Edit: Turns out the charges first believed to be $1.7 million were due to something Bank of America does to freeze an account suspected of fraud.

With that kind of ham-fisted approach, it's no wonder every one of EA's forays into MMO genre has ended in miserable failure. I'm going to laugh my ass off when SW:TOR train-wrecks and EA fires half of BioWare staff.
