Dosbox is a little weird - the best way I've found to run it is to open up the folder containing dosbox, then open up the drive/folder that contains the folder of the game you want to run in a seperate window. Then just drag the game folder onto the dosbox.exe file, and a little command prompt window should open up. Type "dir", figure out which file is the main .exe file and run it. Sorry if that sounds complicated, I suck at explaining things.
Wasteland does have sound but it's pretty primative, just beep and click type of noises. It does have a really cool sound for unloading a clip from an assault rifle though.
