Incidentally, it doesn't show. up.
And a good thing too, since it's 1200 px wide, and not all of us have 1600 resolution.

The link has problems when used directly, you have to go here: http://www.pamedia.com/electronicgaming/computergames/wasteland/, and then click on "Map Of the Wasteland" in the lefthand menu.

And does a screenshoted and stiched together map directly from the game count as fan art?

1280x1024 is good enough to view that pic.

The height is a bit of a killer though: the full size is 1200x1175 px

And the jpeg compression didn't do it any good either.

Anyway. Most modern browsers have an image zoom. (Firefox 1.5: right-click+mouse-wheel)

Liar. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.1 right now, and there is no such functionality (as there never has been since version 0.8 when I started using FF). Without a special extension there is no zoom function, only increase/decrease text size.

Oh, I was pretty sure that extension had made it in the trunk by now.

Get Image Zoom 0.2.3 then.

Firefox supports that with the Mouse Gestures plug in. Search at Google.
Or with Image Zoom, as Ashmo stated, which removes the need to go all Harry Potter with your mouse.

Incidentally, Mouse Gestures has got more useful functionalities than zoom that ought to be considered.

Novopanelo!

Yeah, like "wiggle your mouse on accident and close the current tab".

:: wiggle ::

:: shriek ::

Exunctly.

Whilst I tend to prefer an environment that favours mouse use over axcessive keyboard shortcuts, mouse gestures make it too easy to accidentally do something.

To offer a parallel, would you like to play a game where walking forwards and to the right made you shoot you weapon as well as walking?

Which is exactly why I'm against stupid ideas like mouse-over sensitive interfaces.

Resting my pointer on a button for a couple of seconds should NOT EVER be interpreted as an intent to CLICK that button.

I'm not making this up. This kind of nonsense has actually been suggested!
