Here goes...


I've been reading through the forums, old threads, current ones and there seems to be a general confusion and interest about the real weapons that some of the ones in Fallout and Fallout 2 are based on. My idea is to essentially use this thread as a reference for the other threads in the forums. It would start with Fo2 and be an alphabetical listing of all of the weapons. Not descriptions from in-game (well, maybe later on) but a paragraph or two about the real weapon and some specs on it.

The thread could also be used to answer questions regarding firearms so as to not derail other threads. If it sounds like a good idea, or something that might be marginally useful, I would edit this first post and start dumping in the information.

So what do you guys think? It wouldn't be a discussion thread necessarily, unless that's what you guys want, but for reference. Thanks for reading this idea and be courteous, use thermite. :) - Colt
 
decient idea if you actually feel like putting the time and effort into it, but whats that about thermite? nasty stuff, can burn straight through an engine block... anyone want the recipe? *digs through his junk ridden room to find his Anarchist's Cookbook*
 
Don't get me wrong, that's a nice idea, but what's the point?

There are plenty of websites featuring an abundance of info on firearms, like this one.

Anyone interested in further info concerning the fallout guns would be better of at some of these sites, if just for the fact that they aren't restricted to the comparatively small assortment of weapons found in the fallout games.

But then again, if you've got the time and would enjoy it, just do it. :)
 
The problem with other sites is finding them and then understanding things on them. This thread would be for just the weapons in Fallout 1-2 and you wouldn't need to page through a bunch of stuff just to find out about the weapons. And like I said, reference for other threads in this forum so if a site no longer exists or is unavailble, you'll have this.

As far as time and effort goes... I'm a bum right now so I have way too much time on my hands. I do want to do this but not if a day after I post it a moderator comes along and Vats it. :) - Colt

I don't think there's much danger of that happening... there's quite a few gun nuts here, and weapon talk sprouts quite often so go ahead and do it.

And about the extra time on your hands, have you heard about something called "masturbation"?
 
If you guys don't want this vatted, then I suggest that you get around to the actual topic of this thread rather than continue the spam.
