Weird hubologist forcefield bug.

My version is the official ( I think? I got it from here) 1.2 version

I'm currently trapped in the hubologist base - I entered, being hired to kill the leader, talked to the two celebrities, asked about joining and got directed to the guy that gives a zeta scan - at this point, I realized I should grab enough cash to harden my power armor before I raze the place - I do so by going up the stairs and robbing the shopkeepers in chinatown (heh) - I come back down, money ready - the forcefields which were disabled to let me through are back up - I ask the guy to give me a zeta scan, which warps me past the forcefields.

I save at this point, not realizing my predicament - the forcefields are up, I have no explosives, and for some strange reason, I cannot use repair or science on either the forcefield emitter or the forcefield - the forcefield emitter only has two options - the binoculars for look, and the bag for 'use item on'. Are the hubologist forcefields just like that? Am I bugged? Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way I can get out of this?
 
Have you tried using the Skilldex or pressing 8 to get a little yellow "use" cursor?
 
Yeah, that doesn't work either on the emitter either- however, to clarify, I do have all the options on the actual forcefield itself, not that it matters too much.
 
After a hiatus from playing Fallout, I forgot how to deactivate forcefields as well. If you look at the emitter, there's a little thing that looks like a cone. That's what you need to use repair on and I've never been able to call it up with the click/hold method.

Try pressing 8 and aiming at that.
